Gorgeous!! How do you like the brakes? Is it worth the upgrade?
To be honest initial stopping power is not unlike what I already had. The tail end of the stop is quicker but not night and day of a difference.

As some have said in the other brake threads, I think a big part of this upgrade is aesthetics. It?s certainly worth the head turns. I constantly have folks staring at them at red lights.
Well, that?s the main reason I want them.... they look framing awesome!

Here's my 2017 340 to add to the Mineral Grey thread. Next steps for mods: Dinan Shockware, Dinan CAI (if it ever gets released), and perhaps springs?

Do you order the car with the 340 badge blacked out from the factory?

Beautiful car, ours are similar! I have the Dinan exhaust as well (incl. midpipes) ...went with the chrome tips. I did a little writeup here. Did you do the Dinan tune?

P.S. you should definitely get the M Performance diffuser.

No, I purchased the 340 badge in black and some black roundel decals from bimmian.com. They aren't cheap, per se, but I love the result.

Hey Charles, thank you. I do remember reading that thread you posted and I agree 100% on the Dinan FreeFlow exhaust. The sound is just perfect for me and I can't add anything to your assessment - spot on.

I do have the Dinan tune and the car is remarkable vs. the stock 340s I test-drove. If you don't have it and want to spend the $1400, you should get it.
I do like the look of the diffuser. Is the installation difficult? I don't have much knowledge in this realm and certainly don't have a garage full of mechanic's tools, but it doesn't seem like much of a job.

Awesome. Yeah I definitely will consider doing the tune at some point. For now it's fast enough ...

The diffuser is an easy, easy install. I did it in 20 minutes. Stick your head under the rear bumper, undo the screws; put in the M Performance diffuser, put the screws back.

LOL, that sounds like nothing compared to the time spent removing the stock chrome badge and replacing it with black! Thanks for the description - I feel like an idiot.

I got the black tips on the Dinan. never seen the chrome actually on the car. Looks good though!

Awesome seeing this from both of you! This is my '17 340. She's been sitting stock for 6 months but I have some plans for her!

Currently I have all m-performance exterior bits on the way (excluding skirt extensions). In 2018 I'd like to install as many of Dinan's products as I can! Priorities are the exhaust (midpipe and muffler) and Springs. Eventually I'd like to get on to the tune, perhaps a BMS intake, spacers and/or some HRE wheels after everything else.

Very excited to see how the car feels once I have everything how I want it.

P.S. This is my first post in bimmerpost! Forum newbie here

Welcome welcome! I think we are almost twins, same color combo:

The Dinan exhaust AND midpipes are totally worth it, don't hesitate.
That last photo of yours is fantastic photography.
Would love to see some pics of your car with the M Performance exterior parts installed.

Great photos, welcome! The FreeFlow exhaust is wonderful, you'll love it. I can't speak for the midpipe but from Dinan's demo videos it seemed a bit too loud/obnoxious for me, but for someone else I'm sure it's a nice addition.

I'm curious to see the M Performance parts on "my" car vicariously through you. Can I suggest some tint and black badges (although I don't know the tint laws in Canada)? They would look great on your car, too!

Lol I would agree that installing my defuser was easier than pulling the badges off.

Every time you post pics I get the urge to buy gunmetal VMR's for my mineral grey 328...

What did you use to smoke the tail lights?

You should also do the rear badges to match

Thanks man!

I like the gunmetal VMRs but just keep in mind that both the rims and mineral grey paint can each look different in different light. In some lighting conditions they come together great but others are not the best. Most of the time I think they look decent though.

The taillights are just 20% tint that my local shop did.

I agree about the badges. The one problem is I cannot find a blacked out or CF xdrive emblem. I don't want to just remove the x drive because it's like I'm making it into a fake RWD. I've considered debadging but don't want a fake 335/340, especially since I have the dual exhaust

Just debadge it. Sounds like you wouldn't hesitate to do that if you had a single-sided exhaust. I personally wouldn't care of I saw a modded BMW that had no badges ...just because you have dual exhaust doesn't mean you're trying to pose and be a 335/340. If someone wants to interpret it that way, it's on them. Debadged is just a cleaner look.
