Another pointless "laugh at someone" thread. Let people be and not be all superior and mocking. Very sad.

It's not particularly difficult to be all superior with some people.

Apart from that it is okay to laugh at people as long as you are prepared for the same.

If some BMW owning chav puts a car up for sale - then they are fair game.

I think I was about 10 when I learnt to spell check an advert I placed in paper shop window.

Admittedly iPad's and PC's do bugger up a persons spelling and presentation lol.

However there are enough oxygen stealing civilians to be superior and mocking with!

Fair game?! No actually they are not unless they ask for your opinion. Would you apply that logic to a neighbour selling their house at an inflated price? Is that what you would teach you kids, find people on the internet to mock. Who actually trawls the internet to find other people to mock?!

Nothing to do with a 'BMW owning chav' - what a small minded statement & opinion! He does you no harm so walk on by. Shame on you.

He has had a few bids so who cares, good luck to him.

Actually yes regarding the house, I pretty much everyone has family X trying to sell a house well over going rate with it on the market for months /years.

Actually I mock people in real more, I find it amazing just how brain dead some people in this country are.

You don't need the internet to find people to mock, a simple trip to Aldi's suffices.

Personally it does look like a BMW owning chav, my opinion.

It's great you take so much pleasure in mocking others. You're not conceited but have every right to be.

Since 2012, I have found it's not actually hard to do and a large number of my fellow civilians are so dense they do not even realise it.

Conceited... Not really, I just know I am better than the majority of my peers I work with.

Put simply I visualise the seller and ask myself would I buy from them.

The car sounds interesting to petrolheads and currently bidding at £12k I imagine what a hoot that'd be as a "fun" car. But even if I had the readies to hand and loved the car I'd not buy it because of my instinct that something ain't quite right here.

Does anyone else have this cynical thought process when they see this sort of thing?

This one on the other hand looks fine to me.

Sorry, was that a split infinitive?

Anyway all I was saying was the way people communicate in Ebay descriptions does give you an idea of the owner which in turn gives you clues about the item. And if it's a serious purchase like an M5 that matters.

If I was buying, oh I dunno, a set of 1950s cigarette cards of famous matadors, I couldn't give a flying fig who's selling them and their description can be as shockingly crap as they like, I'd still buy them. But an M5 is a different kettle of ball games.

Judging the seller by the description? Bloody hell yeah.

Very much so

However, it's a great forum and yes we do take piss - it's banter (ridicule).

Being told not to as it's wrong, is a bit red 'flagish'.

Back to the EBay advert, anyone selling something of value that may reflect on how the seller is, must make sure it reads ok.

We actually have people sending CV's in for relatively high positions, failing to spell check or have someone else read it through.

Admittedly I still interview them, as they may be dyslexic or crap at English but technically brilliant.

From experience though they just prove to be crap.

Ex aircraft engineer (avionics), now working in gambling area ( casinos etc) still engineering / manufacturing / high tech stuff (touch screens, Near field technology etc) - systems engineering -aka directors bitch would be more accurate.

I tend to get the task of interviewing most non basic roles.

Roles can be software orientated, electronics, hardware, CAD. Etc.

Exceptionally varied lol.

He replied to my message - the 150k includes the purchase cost of the car new and told me to google it to find the list of mods which I think is this - http://www.arjunauto.com/view.php/cd...al+220MPH/2006

Either way it's currently bidding at about the price of a standard E60 M5 so whoever spent the cash on all the mods is about to take a MASSIVE hit on the cost.

What a complete tool.

I take Uk s point about not taking the piss out of people without reason and on the whole agree. Having said that though I think there's a difference between being a vile troll and a bit of banter. One observation regarding the advert is that it does not seem exactly welcoming.

For one think he's screening out any "time wasting pesants" which I think is a mistake, regrettably messrs also need not apply.

Some of those "pesants" may have been lucky enough to win the lottery last night yeah, and may be now be in the market for the fastest road car on the isle of Wight, innit.

This being the case they may wish to kick the tyres of this fine example, but may have been put off by the needlessly aggressive advert.

I have no idea what the designers of the body kit were thinking. It reminds of the old VW advert where the cars were shown in tears having been hideously modified.

Anyone read through the Arjun piece on the car?

Apparrently it's only due to the rev limiter cutting in at 220 mph.

"Vehicle has been actually road tested at 210 MPH & still accelerating! But would hit Rev limiter at 220 MPH!"

Not saying it cannot, however I hope it's a very long straight.

It was not a "carrot" I was just interested, then I forgot I had asked this until you posted in the other thread.

Just for your interest (or not) I am a Production/ Operations manager, now working in Rail overhaul. Before had I was an Opps manager for a Mining OEM manufacture, and before I worked in Shipbuilding for BAE on the south coast.

I am very poor at spelling and grammar, so I tend to take it easy on people who also struggle.

We all have our own ways I of dealing with things I suppose, and I would imagine I am firmer on some aspects than you, and Visa Versa.
