328i vs 428i exhaust

Quick check to see if anyone knows whether the exhaust for the 428i is the same as our 328i?

Also wondering if you could then port the BMW Perf exhaust over if you traded to a 4er, which I suspect the answer to the above should tell me.

Off the fact alone that the car is longer overall than the sedan, the obvious answer is no.

Not true! One of the sponsors already confirmed that the F30 exhaust would work on the F32, and the OEM exhaust part numbers are the same for both cars. I forget which sponsor/exhaust it was however. The underpinnings are likely the same, but the additional length may come from differences in the bumper/overhangs (..think E90/E92 M3....same stuff works on both cars despite the coupe being longer, as usual). Even the Akrapovic exhaust part numbers are the same for both cars.

Does the stock 428 exhaust sound better Than the stock 328? The 328i has no sound.

I don't have a problem with the sound of my 328i under a bit of throttle. Not as symphonic as my old E90 325i, but not too bad. Very fast, especially with BMW Stage 1.

428i exhaust note markedly different

Hey guys, I test drove the 428i sport last weekend and they exhaust note in sports mode and sports + is noticeably different than my 328i sport.

The dealer was the one that drew my attention to it before I took it out and it's clearly different but even he wasn't sure why.

You sure about this? E90/92 use different exhausts. I belive the midpipe is the same but the rear section is different, or vice versa.

When talking about axle back systems - like the M-Peformance exhaust - the E90/E92 can accept the same system (..ex...my friend bought a Megan axle back off of a E90 M3 and used it on his E92 M3. Bolted up fine!). In some instances, the full aftermarket exhausts from any given manufacturer are the same for both cars (..and the difference in length is negligible for kits that have variable lengths for the coupe/sedan.....maybe a half inch, if that!). We are digressing, however. It has already been confirmed that the axle back systems are the same where the F30/32 are concerned.

Ah ok, you're only talking about axle-back. Cuz the mid pipe is of different length. Sounds good! I wonder if the 4 series exhaust is physically any different though

Based on what one of the sponsors/vendors here stated, the 335i system works on the 4-Series.

Eisenmann and Akrapovic have already confirmed that their 335i Rears will indeed fit the F32 435i.

I can't guarantee it, but there is a very high probabilty that the current F30 328i systems on the market (Remus, Eisenmann, Supersprint) will work for the F32 428i

My Rogue setup is being changed to have adjustable tips, allowing it to fit taste and bumper variances between the 3 and 4.
