Question Early Lease Turn In For New 335x

Hey All,

I leased a 335d two years ago and on a 36 month lease. I am interested in turning it in early for a new leased 335x drive (need awd in my area). Does anyone have experience with turning in a lease early for a new lease?

I know last time, I could turn it in 3 months early but what about 6 months early without financial penalty? Any experiences with this?

Thanks,

D

Without financial penalty? Unlikely.

The most straightforward option is to do a lease buyout and trade-in which can all be handled by the dealer, but you will likely have negative trade-in value that would be added to the cap cost of your new lease. The details depend on your residual, current trade value and taxes.

The pull ahead program is up to 3 months paid by BMWFS. I'm not sure how early they would allow you to take advantage of this, but you could ask if they would allow you to pre-pay 3 months in combination with the pull-ahead to get out now. But you are then paying the penalty of 3 months for a car you no longer have.

I would at least have the numbers run on the buyout/trade-in option, but I'm guessing your only way to swap leases without added cost is to wait 3 more months.

Wink

Thanks for the comment. I am on the same page as you on this. I am going to call my CA to discuss it and see what we can negotiate.

I love the 335d, but to be straight up, I miss the power band and exhaust tune of a gas engine. Combined with awd for my nasty hill during snow and it is of some value to me to incur a one or two month penalty.

I will post what I find out..

I heard 3 months was the max. Factor in a 2 month build/ship time and you'll be almost at the 6 month point

Spoke to a CA. 3 months is earliest pull through without financial penalty. It took 3 months to deliver my 335d so 5 months out I will order and I should be set. Cheers!
