steering wheel vibration solution

Just received a call few hours after I dropped my car off today for the steering wheel vibration and I was told that there is no fix for that issue so far and engineers are working on it.

I was given an F30 basic model
loaner with 126 mls on it and once I started driving it I noticed the same vibration at the same speed range. It's like an epidemic!

How many of you with 17" tires had their tires changed to 18" as a possible solution to the vibration and did it make any difference?

I have an F30 base model on 17s, but I've never had the vibration issue.

This has got to be a tire issue. Can you try diffrent wheels and tires altogether?

I have 17" wheels and at first I thought I had the vibration, but it's pretty much disappeared. It was probably just the particular road I was driving on. I still check from time to time and so far no steady vibrations. Just road feedback.

I just picked up my car from the dealer yesterday. It is a 60 mile drive and after some prayer...thank God no vibration on my drive home. I took different routes to feel varying speeds. 328 with sport on 18"s. no variable steering. Solid as a rock May build date.

No vibration here in the UK! 750mls and all is well with the steering! In fact, I prefer it to the E90!! :O

Wheel size change is not a fix. There are numerous F30's with 18" wheels and still have the problem. This "team of engineers" is the only answer I got also and I was told the fix resolution was "several months to a year" out.
That's why BMW "trade assisted" mine and I am now in a 5. But that's not a solution for everyone.
Good Luck with your car!

I've always wondered...

I have owned three BMWs. Two have had vibrations around the 60MPH/100KPH mark. Both were 5 series. My current car, a 1 series does not have the problem. The first 5'er (E39) was used and I simply dismissed it as a used car issue. The second 5'er was a new F10, and I was annoyed but only intended to keep the car until 50000KM. I have a short-term 1 series at the moment until I recieve my new F31 MSport in Feb 13.

Based on all of the steering vibration issues I am reading about (and rusty seat frames), this time I will not transfer the funds to pay for the vehicle until I have taken it on a thorough test drive. If the steering vibrates, as much as it pains me, I will simply not accept the car (I only have a 1000Eur deposit on the order). This is the only way to get BMW to take this issue seriously. I am beginning to wonder if there is a more serious underlying design fault with BMWs???

My fingers are crossed.

Steering Wheel Vibration Issues

Hello, I recently have been experiencing a vibration in my steering wheel and in the cabin in the car only when I am decelerating from higher speeds. I have balanced the wheels a week ago so it would assume its not that. If you guys have any clue on what it can possibly be or have any suggestions let me know ASAP. Thanks! also attached are codes from my bm3 software and I have no clue what they mean so again if you know let me know.

Assume nothing.

Not all balancers and alignment are the same, if that is indeed your issue.

Might also be the road - the same stretch of highway I am able to get up to 70 mph+ is bumpy where I live and my wife's suv also vibrates while driving there. Thought it was my car.
