how does it smell after you turn the car off. do you notice any smell when exiting the car and/or going towards the trunk?

My torque goes all the way 400+ easy...

Yup it farts like it ate beans and the turbo spool is there... The smell is barely there but I've run catless before and it's much more tolerable.

You can't smell it when you stop at a red light with the windows down but when my car is idling in the morning and I'm standing behind my car with my girls waiting for the school bus, you can smell it a it... The spool is also probably louder with catless

The smell for the HFC is very negligible - I think we've covered that!

The sound when in manual mode during downshifting is a bit odd though. I've got the M-PPK, so I'm not sure which is which, but with the combination at just 2500 rpms there's some serious back-firing that happens. My wife hates it. I need to get some audio/video of it.
If I run the car in automatic mode; it's not an issue. Above 3k rpm's it's not an issue even in manual mode. Odd.

To those with the HFC... when you get CELs, does clearing them out delete it from the ECU entirely, or will the dealership (or an emissions station) still be able to see them in there somewhere?

Wonder if it's a MPPK thing since it changes the sounds with exhaust 'burbles' right? Could sound weird if you changed the DP from stock perhaps? Just guessing as I don't think I've ever heard of this before and it just so happens to come from someone with MPPK.

No. It happens between 3000-2000 rpms when you're coasting. It's more much than burbles; it's a 'popping' sound. I'll try to get some audio up.

More vid! For the downshifting sound, that sounds like a backfire check out 2:00 and 3:11 specifically. They are loud pops, and the audio has a hard time bringing them through clear, but you should get the idea. GoPro.

I also eyeballed 0-110mph (speed at top of 4th per HUD) in about 12 seconds. Not official or anything, but sounds pretty solid to me!

Closed course.... etc.

So in summary it seems that some people experience a check engine light (CEL) with the catted version?

This is exactly what I'd like to know. I'd rather not run the risk of going to the dealership with a CEL because of a HFC DP. Running MPPK and haven't given into a JB4 (for the sake of CEL auto delete) yet especially after running custom Cobb maps on a E90 for quite some time.

So far Only the guys with the MPPK ecu/intake package have seen a CEL aside from one other person a few days ago. BMW is always changing software settings, so its the only reason we cannot guarantee 100% no CEL

EDIT: the other CEL guy has a different ECU tune out of Germany on his car, not stock ecu.

Ok so what are some of the ways to rectify without a JB4?

Is there a sensor harness to buy or are spacers the solution?

Looks like the other CEL car has an aftermarket ECU tune, not stock ecu program. So looks like all stock ECU cars are still not showing a CEL that we are aware of to date.

the JB4 is the only aftermarket tuner I have heard from customers that is able to turn of CEL lights for catless downpipes.

I should get my HFC DP Wednesday. I have the MPPk as well. What build date are you? I'm wondering if the three different versions of the MPPK may have different reactions. My build date is 06/13.

I won't be installing until next weekend unfortunately, but I'll update after I get it installed.
