just tape a piece of cardboard over the sensors and tape the camera
thats what most people do up in canada....

its not technically a driving aid if it doesnt work as intended.

But that same 16yr old in a $50K + BMW is just fine?

I suggest an older, less expensive, and simpler car for a license test.

Even for motorcycle testing I see Harley riders come in with their huge bikes and then get on a 250cc or 500cc to do the riding/driving test.
It cracks me up. The test requires some quick maneuvers, quick accel and stop, and some of those huge HD's would be quite the "hands FULL", so these guys come out and then jump on the lightweight and smaller bikes.

Maybe it's his mom's or dad's car--I don't know. I'm taking as a given that this is the car he has to take the test with. But again, on practicalities--you can't just snap your fingers and summon up another car to take the test with.

Frankly, I don't get why hitting the button on the console right after you put the car in reverse doesn't work for the DMV. I just find it hard to believe that the DMV forces so many people to seek out someone else's car in favor of an overly strict rule. I would think there would be outrage--you can defeat the camera by pressing a button, but since you have to do it every time, your car is no good. It's nuts.
