so the f34 would be yet another step between the f31 and the x3. That's the niche of the niche.

This is just my personal opinion, but i'd rather have bmw spend the development costs for the f34 in improving their electric steering system across the entire range instead.
Yes, niche of a niche, but that's the flexibility (beauty?) of the F3x platform architecture. Not much more developmental cost required to expand the model line.

By the way.. with VSS/Adaptive M suspension, the steering and car control is quite nice.

If you want the leg room, get a 5 series! The 3GT is basically a 5 wagon with less cargo space, right? is there really a market for that? maybe around the world but not in the US, don't bring this crap here, bring the M Performance cars here.
The 5 series drives like a boat. Certainly the 3GT will handle better and feel more nimble.

Everything looks great on this except the tail. Its basically a 5-series sized 3-series with an ugly tail. I bet this would be a great car to live with for people who need more space and cargo flexibility though!

The front part is better than the F30-31 models in my opinion, but the rest of the car.... it's f*cking ugly!

here in Italy i've seen only two 5er GT, and it looks even worse in person. It has a WRONG look, proportion are all f*cked up...
I really can't understand why someone can prefer this over an F31 or an F11...

Stop picking on the F25 X3, It has its own platform other than the F30.

I'm not picking on the X3. But it doesn't drive like a car, in my experience. And the platform is very similar to the F3x cars.

Exactly, M-sport or Die!

Certain angles it looks really good and quite aggressive. I don't like the stock wheels I figure a set of afters and PE should do it. Too bad the fender vent cant just be plucked off and the holes plugged. I guess if you paint it to match the body or get Sapphire it wont look so bad. I want to see in person to make a full assessment.

I think it looks good! Front end is much better resolved than the regular F30, though that can be fixed on the F30 by going M Sport and M Performance imo.

I love the front end, but absolutely hate the rear. All F80's should have had this headlight design instead of the cross-eyed look.

I'd bet IND will come out with a body-colored painted version, kind of like they do with the US front bumper reflectors.

The vitriol towards the fender vent reminds me of the very first spy photos of the F30 when the lights-touching-kidney-grills was revealed. There were posts of "aftermarket companies will sell a body colored panels to insert there and make it look more like an E90".

I don't hate it. That's a good start! I still want the F31, but the extra legroom is enticing.

OK, maybe its just me but I'm not following the marketing logic here.
5GT flops big-time in US. Now lets bring a slightly smaller and lower price-point version of the same design to the US and see if they like that instead! Huh?

OK so its a little "taller" then a 3 sedan (easier entry), has the truck lid of an X6, some capacity of the 3 wagon, but its a 5GT. The design is interesting, but if the 5GT was any indication, time for a different "mash-up" design here. I do like the M-Sport wheels, the retractable spoiler, and well, that's about it.
BMWAG: instead of this please spend your design/production money on bringing out the M8!

I love our "new" BMW Designers (post Bangle), but this design isn't working for me. In the mean time I want my F31 wagon please; went to a dealer in Sweden over the holidays and I want to buy NOW here in the US!

In my honest opinion, the GT looks so much better then the F30 sedan bmw should have done this instead, the only down fall is the f the roof to rear secton of the f30 is better then the GT other then that the gt is pretty much on the money sharing some characteristics of the 4 series.
