Interior Cleaning and Detail Product
I'm looking for a good interior leather cleaning and detailing product for my 335i. I know there are several different products out there, but it seems to me from searching on these forums there really isn't a consensus. I was thinking of going with Meguiars, but was looking for advice from this community on what I really should be using for my leather seats and dash.
Any advice? Thanks, Pilot |

For leather I've been using Griots Leather Care. Cleans and conditions in one step and doesn't leave a greasy residue. I've found Lexol to be too smelly and too much residue.
For dash/vinyl/plastics I recommend 303 Aerosoace Protectant. High UV protection, long lasting, and gives a nice matte finish. No gross shiny residue and has no strong smell either. |

Honestly, I use the BMW leather cleaner/conditioner. Smells like a cow for a little while, but works great for UV protection. Needs to be worked in pretty good.
I have coral red leather in a black sapphire car in Georgia. Good leather treatment monthly is essential.

Adam's Total Interior Detailer. It's a mild cleaner and dressing with anti-static properties, odor neutralizers and UV protection.
http://adamspolishes.com/shop/interi...-detailer.html They also have a "leather and interior cleaner" that is harsher for deeper cleaning (and doesn't smell as good). I've found the total interior Detailer to be more than sufficient if you keep up maintenance cleaning. |

In my bimmer:
- for leather I've been using Lexol's leather cleaner and then followup with their conditioner - for non-leather/non-glass I've been using Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer For my other cars I've been experimenting with 10:1 solution of Meguiars D101 (General Purpose Cleaner) for cleaning the leather (hit it with the conditioner after) and other non-glass surfaces. Seems to work pretty well too but I have to get more comfortable with it before the bimmer sees this. Last edited by mcleod52; 06-08-2015 at 05:12 PM.. Reason: typo |

What kind of towel or applicator are you guys using for interior Detailer and seat cleaning? I've been using an MF towel but I'm finding when I spray on the towel, it's absorbing so much product even before I apply it to the surface I'm trying to treat and clean.

Otherwise, I've seen some soft cotton at the auto parts store that could work. Foam applicators are also good for applying, then wipe off with MF towel is another option.

The one I like adding to the cleaning process is an interior detailing spray. I currently use a Mequires quick interior spray. It really adds no shine and minimal protection. However once a week, a 30 second spray and wipe of the dash board leaves it clean of dust and minor hand prints or any marks.
I still do a more treatment with 303 or mequires interior protectant whenever I vacumn the interior. Something that adds some shine and protection. |

MF towels for all surfaces (okay not the carpets), even the leather seats. If the seats are real dirty I will use a brush to rub the cleaner in. oh, I also don't squirt the leather cleaner on to the towel I apply directly to the leather and work in a bit with my fingers.
