How to Adjust Your Mirrors to Eliminate Blind Spots- Video

Hey Everyone,

Here is a quick video on how to adjust your mirrors to eliminate blind spots. I wish I had done this 10 years ago..

It takes a little getting used to, but I won't drive any other way..

Thanks!

Awesome, glad to hear! I've had them like this for probably 9 months, but I wish I did it years ago..

Thanks for watching and commenting

It's the only way to go. I hate when my friends get in to my car and adjust it back the idiots way...

This is the way I was taught when I took driving school when I was learning to get my permit. If you do it just right, the transition from your driver mirror to your rearview mirror to your passenger mirror will be a continuous scene (ie. if a car were only half viewable on your rearview mirror, the other half would be viewable on your side mirror).

Please spread the word... The general public NEEDs to know this, in the nane of safety for all...

I've Been driving like this for years and i cant understand why this is not the normal way already.

I will blame all the lousy driving instructors who do not take the time to properly teach the passive safety skills...

Proper driving seating position and mirror setup are the basic foundation!!!

With every new car having blindspot monitoring as an option, I think people wont care about the right way to adjust mirrors. At least for me, thats an option i can skip until it becomes a standard feature.

My mirror was adjusted like this for awhile and loved it. However being able to see the side of your car really comes in handy when parking in tight spots, thus i Opt to install those blind spot mirrors after moving to NYC.

Just save one of your seat memory buttons with the correct mirror adjustment and the other with the mirrors facing your car when you're pulling into spots/etc.

I still look. Not that I don't trust my mirrors, I just always make sure.

That would actually make it hard to drive in Indonesia with the numerous tight roads here. Being able to see the side of your car helps preventing it from running into a ditch in tight roads, especially when you have to squeeze between a ditch and an oncoming traffic. Though you have to fold your mirrors sometimes or you'll hit the other guy's mirror.

Or just lean your head to the side you want to see the rear corner of your car as you're backing up...

This whole blind spot monitoring technology thing has always made me laugh. As this method proves there are no such thing as blind spots with properly adjusted mirrors, so why pay for something that is of no use.

I have been doing this for many, many years. This is the proper way to adjust the side view mirrors, after all, they are side view, not rear view. Side view mirrors with the euro blind spot optical bend (Aspherical convex) at the edge are even better. Too bad they cost upward of 400 USD for the F30, which is way too much for my taste.

I have Lane Change Warning and I love it. It helps a lot to "eliminate" blind spots.

Unless you have the option of lane change warning but in the end still need to look over your shoulder.
