I was just about to ask the same question...I am and it's been delayed twice. Original port date of 2/6, then 2/8 and now 2/11. The anticipation is killing me!

I'm on it, been tracking it ever since it left Durban on 12/8. I placed my order on 11/4, was quoted 6-8 weeks. Gonna be 14 1/2. And of course we had to have the ship that also took 10 days to just sit in the water for maintenance.

When I realized he had no clue and that my car was going to be 3-4 months I bailed on my order and bought a better car on 12/6 that I've been driving for two months now. The good news is that the car is awesome and you will love driving it. It's a shame about the SA builds and that BMW hasn't educated their dealerships as to how long it really takes. You will enjoy your car. |

I'm in the same boat... Completed production 11/2. 3 and half months of transit time just seems silly. In my quest to stay positive in this final stretch I've rationalized that there's little functional difference between a boat arriving today (Friday) at 2pm vs. Monday morning at 7am. I just hope its final 15 mile journey from Long Beach to the South Bay is a bit more brisk. Anyone care to give me an over/under on how long until it's ready for pickup?

We are at the Port of Long Beach. Barring any set backs, our cars should make it to Port Hueneme tomorrow!

Yes, our vehicle is on the Felicity Ace, too and eagerly waiting for dealer delivery later this week. I understand the Felicity leaves Long Beach, CA at 4:06pm today. Tracking info states the ship will be in Port Hueneme, CA for 7 hours on 2/11/2013. Order date was ~10/15/2012. Originally quoted 6-8 weeks. My CA missed the expectation by a longshot. I expect to negotiate some hefty discounts on BMW Lifestyle items and further credits on the purchase price, in exchange for the long wait.
On a positive note, sometimes it pays to wait for a good thing. I read that the rust issue was resolved with early November production. I expect this corrective action to be in our favor. Maybe others can report any issues on their 3 series production models from Rosslyn, South Africa after actual delivery. Again, I would rather wait 16 weeks until all the quality issues were resolved than receive any surprises. IMHO, a BMW should be considered an investment and retain high residual value without any issues. If it does, then their business model will continue to grow with repeat buyers. I am planning a 2nd BMW purchase right after this one, if all goes well. Last edited by golf4hrs; 02-13-2013 at 09:10 AM.. Reason: error in city name for South Africa |

What's everyone waiting on? I ordered a 335i sport line 11/2, Production completed 11/22.
Like all of you I was quoted 6-8 weeks, been the most excruciating wait ever and this forum has been a godsend to pass the time. Ordered from center bmw in Sherman Oaks, would my car be coming off in Long Beach or Port Hueneme? |

Well. FA is on its way to the next destination. They better begin prepping our cars!
Btw...my sales rep emailed me to let me know the car is at the port. |

So does anybody have any ideas for trying to negotiate a lower price for those of us with that were grossly misquoted on the wait time? I feel like I wouldn't have the guts to walk away on a bluff after waiting so long and that the CA must know how desperately we want the car after waiting so long for it. I was thinking of saying that I placed a (German) order at another dealer while waiting and that it is only a few weeks away or something. Honestly, I'm so tired of waiting I would probably buy without a lowered price. Any thoughts?
