Insurance when you're a teenager is insane anyways. I remember when I first started driving my Sentra SE-R was $3k a year to insure and that was for a Sentra in rural Virginia!
A high powered sports coupe in California? It's going to be insane, but hey so is buying a $40,000 car when you've got less than 5 years of driving experience. But if you've got the money to burn go for it.

I would ask them to lease me a 370z and ask for the extra cash to be deposited into a bank account for college expenses you know, beer, books, ladies.
