Picking Up On Thursday

Just got the call today that I can take delivery of my Luxury Line this Thursday at 1530. Not bad given they originally told me December 22nd for delivery. All told it'll be five days shy of two months from order to delivery, which seems pretty fast from what I have heard.

Given that I ordered in September and they are delivering on the first day of November I feel like I should make a scene about the 360 promotion, but I'm on the corporate programme. Hopefully I don't change jobs

Congrats ozorion.. I think you'll already be getting extra benefits form the corp programme and it will still apply even after you leave the company.

I just use imageshack or imgur and link to them. Never tried uploading directly to the forum.

Depending on the file type, you may need to reduce its size before uploading as F30Post does not modify sizes. I had to follow those instructions before uploading my first F30 photos, which were JPEGs.

There's been a bit of uncertainty placed on the pick up now - BMW supplied the finance company with an incorrect invoice, and the correct one was only sent through yesterday evening - too late for a funds transfer to be cleared by today. Obviously with no money in their account, BMW won't release the car.

The finance company is trying to do a real time transfer (RTGS) that may still get me the car today, so we'll have to see. The annoying thing is that I'm only financing part of the car.

Take a tape measure and check that your car is level, from bottom edge of the rim to the body wheel arch.
Diesel is great, and quite surprising in sport setting. Enjoy your car

So my bank managed to do a same day transfer this morning at 9am and I found out straight away so I was able to buzz my way through the rest of the day knowing that nothing else would prevent me from picking up my first BMW at 1530 this afternoon.

As it turns out, due to the invoicing mistake made by BMW, I've overpaid by nearly $6,000 - so they are in the process of organising a refund for me for the difference. My sales rep at North Shore was on leave today but he still came in on his day off to do the delivery because, in his words, I was the most excited person he had ever sold a car to and he wanted to be there when I took delivery.

Their gift to me was a pair of key rings to go with my two keys - one 3 series ring and one BMW logo ring. Sadly I'd already bought the 3 series keyring on the day I ordered my car originally as a present to myself so if anyone is after a genuine 3 series keyring, I have one going free to a good home.

The delivery process was nothing much to speak of, I'm sure most of you here have been through it before and of course in most cases I knew more about the car than the sales rep did. 40 minutes all told and I was on my way - at about 22kmph as I crawled home through peak hour traffic for over an hour.
