Congrats! I just purchased my 435i in gray on black today, but due to the lack of manual gearboxes in my area I had to special order, so I'll be waiting about 3 months. I was also on the Market for a M235i, but the 435i just felt more solid and I really like the look of this car over the 235. I thought the M235i felt a bit faster, but overall the 435i was a better fit for me.. I also drove the 228i and it also felt amazingly quick for a turbo 4.

from test online it seems this car w/ mppk is getting 4.4 second, the same as m235i's best time by MT.
btw, m235i is 3,535lb (auto) while a 435i is 3,610lb. the difference here is only 75lb.
435i with mppk has 15 more HP than 235i too, so I would say these are pretty close.

you are right the turbo 4 is amazing. i couldn't believe how much torque and low speed acceleration i was able to pull on my 4000lb 528i.
are you going to get mppk? if u do, i think the perf diff b/t the two would be very close. m235i has a better handling due to its smaller size, but at the end of the day, the marginal performance gain of m235i is outweighed by the superior look of the 4-series as well as a much bigger rear seats for me.
if you take your car to the track though, i would seriously consider m235i for its cheaper and better tires. if you are more like me who does mostly daily driving and is in the mid-30 or above, perhaps a 2 series would look a bit out of character on some occasions.

60-75 lbs. is insignificant when it comes to acceleration. Besides...no amount of weight savings will fix ugly.

if i had to make the decision again i would probably still get this car to be honest. so yup i am def not complaining!

btw, i can't think of why the lighting package is an awesome package at all. it seriously does not seem brighter than xenon. in fact, the middle part is actually darker. because of the decoding in USA, the light is permanently darkened in the middle so i actually see less than my xenon in the past. i seriously don't get how is this a better product than a regular xenon, unless ur car does not have its variable light function decoded. without that function, i essentially paid for something that i would never be able to use...

in additions, mppk 435i has more power than m235i too.

to call it ugly might be a little harsh. it's just that 435i is probably one of the most beautiful bmw right now in my opinion, whereas m235i needs quite a bit of time to warm up to my liking. i did grow fond of it though over a month of looking at its photos.

No mppk in the works... But I'll probably be doing some modifying at some point. AS it stands the 435i offers loads of power, handles great, and looks sexy as hell, especially with the Msport. I also agree that as a mid thirty-something guy, that the 2 might look out of character, but that had nothing to do with my buying decision.. I just liked the 435 better, despite being just a tad bit slower. The M235 is a great car and if I could afford it, I would have bought both.

got you. yes 435i has plenty of power, way more than enough. i used to drive n45 and n55 335i when i was younger and i really miss that engine. i am sure u will enjoy your 435i! hope it's not too tormenting to wait 3 months...maybe u should step away from forum actually cuz i find reading about it actually makes me want it sooner even more!

Wow did not know that fact about the coding of the led lights. Probably some bs DOT regulation right? At least your turn signals are led right? Hey i have halogens on my 328 and at night time they are pretty much useless

I'm a little confused by this. I know the adaptive high beam is disabled in the US due to an archaic switch regulation, but what do you mean about "the middle part". Could you please explain?

By the way, it a beautiful car!

I believe he is referring to the dead middle of the LED main headlights. Where the horizontal bar is, obviously the light won't project from that bar, just around it, so the Xenons (in his opinion) are better since they don't have a dead spot horizontal bar right in the center.

Drivers assist isn't included with premium?

Is that just cameras and lane change nannies?

If so, you lucked out and got an awesome deal....the PPK port installed and the M sport trim are hot.

Love it!

I mean could be worse...honestly, at least you have the premium so you can open the doors with key in pocket, etc...

Can you take more pictures of the LED issues you were speaking of??
