To your example, it is not about dying by pressing a button each time, but rather being irritated that you have to press ANOTHER button EACH time you want the action. Clear now? |

Well, after 2 days of driving with ASS enabled after getting the car updated to the latest software (ISTA/P V2.47.2), I have to say that it seems to work much better than before.
I have not had any rough/shuddering stops/restarts after about 40 ASS cycles. The stop/starts are of course still noticeable (it's not a Prius), but it doesn't feel like a big-rig engine stopping/starting anymore. We have long traffic signals where I live. It's actually kind of nice now to sit there not using any fuel, waiting for the green light so I can kick this thing and burn up all the gas I saved waiting at the light! |

When I took it in for service and reported issues the stop/start feature, they did a software update for the whole car. So far, I think the new software actually addressed the issues I was having. If I still don't like the feature, I'll have them add the memory feature. For now, I'm just going to leave it on and see if it's tolerable. |

So maybe the improvement wasn't so much because of the update change as just the engine/tranny needing more break in time. I'm still noticing continuing better fuel economy, even after the initial 1500 mile break-in period, but that may also be more me knowing the cars sweet spots. |

Instead, I was commenting on the apparent behavioral source of the whine within the whiner. I am sorry the distinction is complicated. Amusingly, the number of key strokes entered by each whiner while posting already equals many months, even years, of driving and - horror - pushing "ANOTHER button EACH time you want the action." Ironic. |

I know it's on the "other" forum, but BMW has already admitted ASS destroys the car -- and they buried it. Check out this link.
