Why so many people bailing...

Why does it seem like a lot of people are trying to bail on their new F30? Especially these Estoril Blue's which look freaking awesome?

Is it the sudden realization that you're 60k deep into a 3-series if you put a few options on it? Are you having problems with it? ... or what?

Just curious as I have an 07 E92 and was considering an upgrade.

Glad you are enjoying it! I see you are in Scottsdale, did you go to the BMW dealership off the 101 & Scottsdale Rd? Were you able to do much negotiating with them?

Jesus at a second glance I just realized how many miles you put on in such a short time frame.. what are you doing, driving to Tucson and back on a daily basis??

Was it a lease? How financially ugly was it? I'm tempted to do the same.

I am also interested in doing the same. Too many packages and dealer stock left me with Nav but stock radio. I also wanted a backup camera. I love the engine. I do not need the 335. The 328 is fine for me. I just want to get a 328 with the options I want.

Well, Its a great car, But for 60K there should be ZERO issues. Which is apparently not the case with the f30. Most things don't bother me, but its the little things, like a less insulated cabin, and rattly shit, not to mention your cars power can disappear in a split second, without any warning. But hey, she looks great, drives great, and is way more usable compared to any other 4 door 3er.

Good thing I went and ordered the 335i straight up. Almost bought the 328i with M Performance exhaust. Love that dual exhaust look (too bad it's a y-pipe).

I asked this before, but how are you guys getting in and out of new BMWs without taking thousands and thousands of dollars worth of depreciation hits? Are you dumping the leases on leaseswap? That might make more sense. I just don't see how you buy a brand new BMW and turn around and buy a more expensive one after less than a year without taking a huuuuge hit.

where are you seeing the data reflecting people are bailing on the F30? Its the best 3 series since the E36.

well, i dont know man, i tried a loaner e90 from a friend. i had a back pain due to the tighten steering wheel... maybe i didn't have a in depth test drive...

so far i like my 335 msport so much... did some mods as well... great daily driving car.
i'd say if ppl want handling the subaru brz is a alternative options. hopefully i can see you one day on road driving a f30.

People always talk about depreciation hits. Bottom line is current year model cars are worth invoice less incentive and holdback. Blue book comes into play 2nd year. I leased the '13 under invoice w/incentives and traded it in w/18k miles, 8mos later for invoice... (And got the '14 $3k under invoice after incentives)

This.

Similar example...I've leased my mother a brand new Accord every year since 2009. At the one year mark, the registration is due plus an oil change. Combined, those alone cost more than a month's lease payment, making it worthwhile just to get a brand new one with nothing out-of-pocket and the exact same payment. Add the fact that I've returned the cars with less than a 1/4 tank of fuel and the new ones come with a full tank, and it's nothing but win.

That is a bug in the mobile app. If you respond to someone else's message after arriving at the message by responding to a notification event ( in iPhone by swiping across the notification to open the message) you will get this error.
