I'm pretty sure I'm not even going to go forward with installing the replacement - I just don't like what I hear on the original one to be quite honest. The startup I cannot stand.

The replacement arrived today and I'm pretty sure I'm just going to open to check for any damage, close it back up and put it up for sale here - $800 shipped. Will have everything, clamp, tips, all ready to go.

Just out of curiosity, what don't you like about the sound? I really like the startup. I hope you find something you like better.

Just the loudness of it I think. Now in sport mode it sounds great until you really get on it then you get the 'farting' sound on shifts too. I'll just put the stock back on and be happy.

Keep in mind my last car was
An Infiniti g37 coupe with Infiniti sport exhaust added, sweet vq37 music

I know 4 cyl and 6 cyl difference. Couldn't deal with 20mpg and insane insurance prices.

Did you think loudness wasn't aggressive enough?

Sounds like I'd be a little disappointed with it then.

Though my last car was an '07 Infiniti G35 with the VQ35HR, stock exhaust though. But I loved the way it sounded, just not the gas mileage...

Regardless seems like anything would be better than the stock exhaust regardless

The Active Autowerke exhaust is a lot more aggressive sounding.
I have one may be thinking about selling it.

I have the Performance Exhaust on my 328i Xdrive. I hate the sound on startup when cold! Sounds like a civic with broken exhaust!
The sound when you drive and after the car is got some temp is ok.

I miss the 6 Cyl engine!!

So I have a 328i n26 inbound, and just bought the MPE. I know the n20/n26 differs in the engine bay and at the downpipe, am I safe in assuming that both engine codes are the same from the rear wheels back? Thus the MPE can be used on the 20 and 26?

Thanks
