Some f****r stole my mirrors!

Currently in Poland being fleeced over £250 to replace each one.

The wife is upset more that it's happened in her country of Poland, I'm just glad that nothing is actually damaged!

Garage List
Why just the glass? Are they dimming?

Hopefully easy to replace. Annoying, but up side is no damage was done.

This would be funny if it wasn't so damned annoying.

Anyway, let the wife drive - you don't need the mirrors then

Tell her not to worry about it and enjoy the holiday.

Guessing the mirrors are very expensive and relatively easy to steal....very annoying.

A dimming mirror glass for my F10 was £320 from a BMW dealer. I paid £70 from ebay, which is probably where the OP's ones will end up unfortunately

I would just buy any old cheapo glass and tape it on for now. Then buy replacements on ebay when home

So sorry to hear this. Infuriating.

Were they not folded? If so, must have been quite difficult to steal. Thankfully they did not cause any damage.

Leave Poland ASAP. Who knows what else they will pilfer.

It isn't just Poland - this can happen anywhere. I had parked a 540i outside my house some years back, in a fairly good area of London. The mirrors were both folded. Some retards came along at about midnight, pulled out the mirror and then kicked repeatedly it until it fell off.

I hadn't heard anything, but they then started on a neighbour's car, who did notice and gave the lads such a good kicking that we found where one of them lived the next day from the trail of blood! His old man was persuaded to pay for the damage...

I'm pretty sure this is not just a polish thing, have heard of them being stolen before. No bloody wonder though at close to £300 each. I know they are photochromic or whatever but that's just ridiculous! VAT is a little higher hear but it's just the cost they are really. I did think about just bodging a fix till I can source some for cheap, but I'm on holiday and didn't buy a nice car to bodge stuff on it! I just don't have time either.
It gave me a chance to check out a polish dealership... And here's my observations:

Any women employed are stunningly attractive girls with model figures it would seem!

Much more upmarket feel than your average uk dealer... More like visiting a Prada or Gucci store in feel.

Interestingly this dealer in Wroclaw was an inchcape dealership who I understand are big uk group?

Big display of the BMW lifestyle accessories and clothing on show.

Very pristine dealership all round with dedicated accessory fitting area and new car handover area.

No wonder they charge £300 for a bit of glass!

They were indeed folded in, but they just pulled them out. Thankfully they weren't damaged in anyway in the process, not any other damage to the car.
We are here till Wednesday morning but will put the car is secure parking overnight.

So sorry for you. It could be a "request to order" kind of thing. It's common in East Asia where you ask a shop (not the dealer) for a certain part and they will get one for you (of course without telling you where it would be coming from).

For the rest of the holiday the car will be parked in hotel car parks or at our cottage on Hvar, so should be fine. However we are currently at the in laws and on street parking is the norm in the city centre unfortunately.

Surprised they have RHD in stock in Poland.
