F30/F31 M Performance Power Kit

Hello.

Definitive answer, maybe.
Is this worth it? I've had a quote of £1500 fitted, do I need it, no but if it's available then yes, but your thoughts please. I've trawled the net and I don't see many topics about it only people asking questions.

Powerkit 330d/530d
3-series (F30, F31, F32, F33
5-series (F10, F11) Automatic
330d, 330xd
– Acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h, approx.
-0.2 seconds compared to series models.
Vmax as series.
530d, 530xd
– Acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h, approx.
-0.15 seconds compared to series models.
Vmax as series.

The power upgrade is nice but the torque is what I'm more interested in.

BMW warranty remains intact with this kit fitted, I wish i could try it before I buy, even the dealer hasn't had a car with it fitted.

So after reading that the answer is no.

It's an interesting read though as it seems to suggest, from peoples rolling road activities, it that the 330d is pushing out more torque then published, >600NM.

This is outstanding but now I want to do a dyno run. Can anyone in South Oxfordshire recommend anywhere?

A good question, which I think has been misinterpreted by other posters.

Between 1000 and 1500 the two engines have identical torque vs rpm curves. Since torque x rpm = power, the power should also be identical up to 1500rpm. The graphs are clearly wrong, probably drawn by marketing...

Torque means nothing.

Without knowing the gearing...

True (I never look at the graph oops)

Yeah likely to be best guess by marketing.

The graphs are only supposed to be representative of what you can expect from the upgrade. They are not dyno charts. Most likely BMW do not give dyno charts for the same reason ACS don't - it leaves them open to litigation if a particular car doesn't deliver for whatever reason.

BMW have dyno figures in their printed brochure.
