ED, incentives, usaa discounts, loans, etc...

Ok. I'm a noob!

Going in on my first BMW. Planning a ED 328d xdrive,

Does anyone know if the usaa discount applies to ED sales? How about loyalty -- the wife has a 2014 X5.

If I want to finance part of the sale do banks generally have an issue putting up the money before I have the car (collateral)? I'll call usaa and ask, but wonder if anyone here has comments.

Any other tricks/pitfalls I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance!

Charlie.

Don't know if there is a loyalty discount. There is an option credit right now, worth 1K. As far as USAA, I was denied by the place I ordered mine to use as a discount, but I know others are able to use it. I feel like I got a good deal, so didn't make a stink about it.

As far as financing, no info to help out, as I'm paying cash.

Is it typical for BMW dealerships to not stack incentives if the customer qualifies for them? I would think that if I qualify for the following offers, I should be able to apply all of them... Is that wrong thinking?

- Loyalty Credit
- Option Credit
- Un4gettable Test Drive Credit
- USAA Credit

You can expect to stack them, so no, it's not typical. I'm not sure why they didn't allow me to use it even though I qualified. Any other given time I would have walked from the deal, but I'm happy with what I got and no dealer in my local area would touch the pricing I have on the ED I'm doing.

Push for every discount you can. I simply go straight to a sales manager and say "I'll give you $500 over invoice minus any incentives I qualify for" Some will bite, and others will laugh and tell you to talk a walk. Eventually you'll find that dealer, and hopefully they'll be thankful when you go back the next time to buy new again.

$500 over invoice minus qualified incentives is how I have typically worked my deals as well...

I'm being told that there are not currently any incentives on the 2015s for ED. I am at invoice + 500, so not bad, but USAA and Loyalty would be nice.

Also told that the USAA does not apply to ED sales. True or false?

I don't believe USAA discount is allowed on ED...you also can't use the USAA discount if you want your BMWCCA rebate.

jcmf75 were you able to get $500 over ED invoice? I'm unclear whether the eco credit is possible currently ($1000) on a 2015 ED purchase. These are extremely tough to negotiate on up here (Pacific NW) so I may need to go out of state for pickup (which seems insane for ED).

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

Not sure what the eco credit is as I ordered a 435. The deal was $500 over ED invoice minus any incentives, which was $1K off, so basically $500 under invoice. Dealers here in Houston (think there's at least 3 of them) wouldn't touch the deal I got.
Call me insane then... I live in TX and purchased from a CA dealer, and will pick up the car when it finally arrives stateside at the performance center.

OP if you have any question you can shoot David (ED King) and the team a buzz in the link below in my signature.

Def make sure when you do ED that you select a SA that knows what they are doing. There are a ton of great SA's out there. Happy hunting!

Thanks JCMf75, it's funny how different dealers react when you know exactly what you want to pay and they've never (or rarely) been presented with that type of negotiation, seems they'd want to make a buck vs. not but apparently not. I think anything under ED invoice a pretty great deal and if we choose to go that route for our diesel wagon I'll be thrilled. My main goal was best price and I figured custom build/dealer delivery would blow ED (minus) out of the water (as it has with other cars I've spec'd built and shopped via European/Overseas delivery - Volvo and Mercedes for example). It seems the BMW European Delivery has a lot more wiggle room than some other makes.

Luckily my local "one price" dealer starts at $500 over invoice, minus qualified incentives.

EDIT: and I stacked USAA ($500 towards a lease) with the Option Credit ($1250).

As GOLFFRR said above, contact David, that's who I went through. Great customer service in my opinion.
