Wobble in steering wheel with new Rohana RC10 rims

Hi guys i just got Rohana RC10 20inch Rims (http://rohanawheels.com/wheels/rc10/rc/) for my f30 (2014 320i) And for some reason at 40 mph i notice a wobble in my steering wheel. I suspect that i might need hub rings? But apparently these are hub centric so i dont need them?. If anyone had hub rings installed with those rims which ones should i get? Or any other ideas what might be causing this?

Could be improperly balanced wheels + tires. That would be my guess.

Did you install them yourself or pay the shop? You aren't running spacers? Check the bore size against whatever your car is, hub centric rings should always be used if needed. Bolts are torqued?

What a coincidence. I just mounted my Niche Verona's and I'm getting a shimmy from 40-50mph but disappears when lower or higher than that range. It isn't violent by any means, just a slight back and forth motion in the steering wheel. I went with 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 ET35 and both have bores of 72.6 with bolt pattern 5x120 so I shouldn't need hub rings. I suspect the balance has gotta be off but what else might cause these symptoms. I highly doubt warped/bent rim because they are new and I haven't hit any bone crushing potholes (knock on wood) or anything of the sort.

Yeah i had mine rebalanced twice, and mine are new as well. It has something to do with sizing i am sure. I think it goes away at faster speed because of dynamic steering wheel (so steering wheel stiffens up and you don't feel it anymore) but at around 90 i can feel the whole car vibrate.

What was different about the first 2 balances that didn't fix the problem but did on the 3rd? I also had mine rebalanced but no dice.

Edit: I shouldn't say no dice, it actually did fix the problem to a certain extent. What's weird now is that the shimmy sets in around 50 mph as opposed to 40-50 before. It's also less noticeable but is definitely still moving from side to side but much less.

Tires to do have a key into this shaking.

Conti DWS. Couldn't justify dedicated summers for a DD as tread life suffers tremendously compared to the all season DWS's

I got the Michellin super sport tires. You can find who has the road force balancer here:http://www.gsp9700.com/search/findgsp9700.cfm

Essentially, pressure is applied to the wheel/tire to simulate the weight of the vehicle on the tire as it rolls down the road. The machine senses variations in the tread. This includes: stiffness, if the tire isn’t completely round, or anything that would prevent the tire from rolling smoothly when its weighted by the car. It provides the operator with information that lets them orient the tire on the wheel to optimize the roundness of the tire and allows for balance with less weights. It can also detect when a tire or wheel is out of spec.

Generally speaking... spin balancing will balance the wheel and tire combo, but does nothing for an out-of-round situation. The assembly could be balanced, but if it isn't round, then you will still get vibrations.

Thanks. I take it a place like Discount Tire would not have such a machine.
