Same, I've got myself in the habit of pushing the button twice. My mrs has forgotten a few times though.

I really don't understand why people want this so much?

Either turn the ignition off properly like you would with an old school key when getting out, or it goes off when you lock the car anyway.

I jump out of my car every morning to close a gate after I've pulled off my drive so it'd get right on my nerves, but what about just grabbing something out of the boot etc. Does it go off when a passenger opens the door?

I just don't get it.
Because its annoying!

Just click on the 3 series then f3x tab. Loads that it appears can be coded like even the temperature of the heated seats on 1, 2 and 3 settings.
The gearshift number would be good as would a couple of others it looksnlike they can do. These are not in the main site cheat sheet does anyone have the settings or another list?

I have another list on my laptop at home. I'll see if I can find the original link, or upload it.

You can't code the display to show what gear you're in in normal "Drive" without flashing the gearbox with Alpina software.

I dont know why - it just bugged me.

if the car is running, it wont switch off the radio when you go to close your gate. But, if you like it the way it is.....

I agree and so I have coded it to turn off when I open the drivers door . Downside is when I am washing the car the radio turns off every time I open the door

Is there any way to stop the radio turning off every 10 minutes or so when the car is parked & unlocked such as when I am washing it ? That is annoying especially when I have just turned it back on then open the drivers door & it switches off again !

That's just the recommended shift up / shift down indicator, not coding. Even then it doesn't show you what gear you're in because it's pretty unneccesary in a manual...

I don't know for sure but if it has electric mirrors I don't see why it wouldn't do it?

Try it. Make sure you have the slide switch switched to the drivers side mirror and put it in reverse, passenger mirror should dip. If it does, you'll be able to code the angle.

Tyre temp Display
Beep on lock/unlock
Folding mirrors when locking car

Can anyone recommend other codes they've had done. TIA
Can I get the dealer to do any of these before I pick up my car?

The folding mirrors on lock - does it not do this anyway if you hold down the lock button?

And on an F31 - does the boot not open/close on the key anyway - or is the coding option about making it do it without holding down the button (which I guess is a safety thing).

Yeah coding means you just need to press it rather than hold it.

Changing the F31 powered bootlid to work on a single press is the best coding option for me. I use it many times a day with the dog, esepcially in this weather when to bootlid is filthy.

Unfortunately not.

Most dealers will not even acknowledge that coding exists.

Its all to do with the parameters being set at the factory. I.e the ecu's need the code in there to be able to set it to whatever BMW want it to be. The side effect being, that it can be 'hacked' and altered.
