It's best to go to the shop and they should have a viewing plate so you can look through them yourself. I also recommend doing it in a dark room and seeing what you are comfortable with as well as your state laws. Mine are at 20% on my cars and 27 front 20 rear on the wife's here is a pic of the wife's

Here is my '13 335xi with 35% tint all around. The car has black interior and I am very pleased with the results. It really improved the looks/privacy and I can still see out at night.
I attached another pic before tint as a reference. I know most people go darker to 20% and I had that on another car, but out of the ambient light of the city, it was hard to see out the side windows at night. Good luck. |

I got the Solar Gard Supreme 28, which is about 23%
You can somewhat see how it looks on a AW http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=851544 |

Sooooo some were saying that the rubber flaps (or whatever they're called) in the interior of the door at the bottom of the windows cause quite a bit of friction and scratch lines into the tint film.
There is a product (felt-like surface strips) that should be installed on the rubber. Has anyone here done that? Any idea what the product is called? I'm thinking of tinting also, but want to make sure I get that installed at the same time. |

I have 20% all around on the 335. It's stays pretty hot majority of the year in Georgia so darker tint is a must down here. The cops don't trip too much over tint in my area either
