Retrofit B pillar lights without cutting wires

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and I need little help with ambient lightning upgrade. There are lot of threads around this forum about retrofit B pillar lights to Sport and M sport F30, but they are old few years so I started a new one with with fresh informations. I have F30 LCI from MY2016 and already retrofit cup holder led without any problems with y cable, all works great as factory arrived. Now my idea is to do the same with B pillar lights, to made y cable and to connect these to footwell lights and run the cable through the door sill and up to b pillar. Y cable will be made with two 4 pins connectors and with one 3 pin to connect the other end off b pillar light cable. As I can see in wire diagram for interior lights, these lights are connected to that point.

Can you please help me a little, is these a good way to add these extra little leds, I dont wont to damage something or to splice any wire in the car.

I think there should be no problems as these is the same way as we retrofit cup holder led / AC trim led.

Thanks for informations

Sorry for my bed English

Cup holder light is from above the cup holders as the pre-LCI model, I just added this module with y cable.

I know that we can splice three wires in rear door harness but i don't want do that, creating two adapters from footewell light module on each side is better option.

One more question, is there any brightness drop in the rear doors after splicing wires and if there is how much?

Here is a picture off footwell light module. It has 4 wires, brown is ground, second one is for regular light when doors are open, and last two wires are for ambient light (orange and white light). From there I want to made adapter with two 4 pins connectors to connect existing led module in footwell and from one side of new adapter run the 3 wires (brown, white blue and white red) in the b pillar to connect new light module.

Hi,

I done this retrofit a few days ago, as I suspected everything works like factory fit. I made two adapters to connect b pillar lights to the footwell light and run the wires in door sill up to b pillar.

It took 5 hours to make two adapters, take apart both sides and put together everything.

Parts:
For adapters:
Contact pin MQS = 61131393723 14x
Bushing contact = 61130005197 8x
3 Pin Universal pin terminal uncoded = 61136931929 2x
4 Pin Universal pin terminal uncoded = 61136925611 2x
4 Pin REP. KIT FOR SOCKET HOUSING = 61132359994 2x
B pillar parts:
Optical conductor, B-pillar = 63319242153 2x (grey color)
Interior light, B-pillar = 61319242163 2x

Total cost was around 130 euros including shipping to Croatia

Final result in pictures

Excellent. Thx.
Looking at adding an led strip to my trunk running off the stock led bulb.
Want to build a y connectoe extension harness so I don't need to splice into the oem wiring.

Is the 4 pin that the led plugs into the 61136925611?

Any idea how I find the part number for an equivalent female/male connector?

Hi,

Male connector number is 61136925611 and female is 61132359994.

These are 4 pins connectors so you can connect new adapter to front footwell lights for example.

Pins on that connections are negative pin, + pin for regular light, + pin for orange ambient light and + pin for white ambient light.

So all you need to do is y adapter to bypass your oem connection on footwell module and from that adapter you can splice any wire you need from that 4 pins.

Benefit from doing this is that you don't cut any oem wire
