Yep...ever since the E9X. Old news! And the reason for the "technology" is because the damn B-pillar/seat belt is wayyyyy out of reach for the occupants in the coupe, so the damn mechanical arm is needed so that you don't tear your damn rotator cuff trying to grab the damn thing.

2009 coupè owner here, never blocked or broken and it's super precise. It happen so rarely that it "miss" the seatbelt. The only complain is that in some situation it's slow...

Curious the A5 doesn't have this feature and doesn't need it, I wonder why?

My 07 and 10 e92s did that. I kinda liked it when it worked.

Have you tried reaching for the belt without the extender? It's way back there. Can it be done? Sure but it's not comfortable. I'm not sure how that makes anyone "lazy" or "stupid".

Er, as said, this has been in cars for years. Its because the doors are so long in a coupe that you have to twist right around to reach almost into the back of the car to get the buckle, so it pushes it forward to get a better grasp on it. Not lazy at all if you're over 40 and not that flexible any more ;0
