Any one else?
Could be a glitch in Rapidshare.. I just tried the first file and it downloaded with no problem. Perhaps you could give it another try later today or see if any of the other files show the same problem?

Also, make sure you have enough free space on your hdd.. the total space needed is about 10gb for all files, each file is about 480mb.
No probs on the space on the hdd.
Download manager has done the trick!
Might need some more help on file save location and where to save/copy as I'm not a techie!
Excellent thread this.

Ahh that's what you want to do. Hmm.. I don't know if this is possible to code, or if there is still some need for the additional hardware. Thing is, the Y cable has a separate output for audio which might indicate that cars without that specific option might have a different connector thingie underneath the armrest than those who do have the option, and then you wouldn't be able to code it.

The only thing I can advise is to try it yourself

I have to admit, a lot easier than I thought. whoever made the analogy to editing the windows registry is pretty dead on.

There should be a thread detailing each function and what it does. Basically like your cheat sheet but one that the community can add on to....

Now on to our f25 which has the tech package!

How long does it normally take for your car to be detected after turning on the car but not the engine? mine doesn't seem to get detected but the lights flash on my network port. Windows says the network cable is unplugged. Any suggestions?

Very quickly in my experience. No more than a few seconds. Bad cable?

One thing I did when I built my cable was to pull out the trusty multimeter and test each pin and also the resistor.

Yeah making a connection shouldn't take any longer than 30 seconds max, usually faster. I agree with Raspartan, it might be worth it to check the cable

checked the cable, seems fine, resistor is reading 503 Ohms, is that fine? I'm thinking it''s a problem with the laptop i'm using, it's my work one and they have a bunch a crap that takes over the network interface for vpn and what not. Going to try with a mac laptop and if that fails, I'll need an extension cord for my old laptop that can't hold a charge anymore.

Hello all. I have a F30 Sport with a 6 spd. I work in the service department at a BMW dealer. I have access to the coding cable that the techs use. They don't want to help me with much because they are afraid of losing their jobs. I am about ready to start coding after almost a week of downloading the files from rapidshare. But here is a question. I am a little unclear as to what to do with the .rar's. When I unpack them I get an error every file is this normal? Again a step by step guide for what to do with these psdzdata files would be AWESOME! I'll let you guys know how easy this is with the dealers cable.

ive got a lenovo and i make sure to disable wireless first. lenovos have a network manager that depending on configuration will only allow one wired or wireless adapter to work at a time.

but yeah, my connection only takes a few seconds to connect to my laptop

make sure to have all the rars downloaded first and in the same folder. when you unpack the first one it looks for the second and so on in the sequence. so you need them all downloaded first. once it unpacks them all it will put the files/folders together the way they need to be.

I get pretty close to 511 oms (510/512) in both cables that I ended up building, but I think 503 should be fine for this. As far as I know the car connection is TCP/IP so you're probably right about the network adapter configuration on the laptop end.

Coded some additional traffic info settings today in an attempt to get the traffic to show up. We'll see tomorrow.

I think all of this is amazing! BMW dealers should offer the change of these preferences themselves! Will definately ask my Amsterdam dealer, however their response is probably NO....

Anyway, good work!!

Would anyone know how to code the rear camera to stay on when you activate it while driving? I have a 2012 f10 and would love this feature.

Here ya go:

PDC -> 3009 -> V_SCHWELLE_1 -> Werte = FF (max speed to disable top camera view, default 24)
PDC -> 3009 -> V_SCHWELLE_2 -> Werte = FF (max speed to disable rear camera view, default 0F)
PDC -> 3009 -> D_SCHWELLE_1 -> Werte = FF (max distance in meters to disable top camera view, default 32)
PDC -> 3009 -> D_SCHWELLE_2 -> Werte = FF (max distance in meters to disable rear camera view, default 0A)

Only downside is with this that the speed cutoff gets disabled but the distance cutoff not. So after about 255 meter or about 0.2 mile, the camera will still shutoff. They haven't found a fix for this yet (I'm unsure if they're actively searching for this, though).

Didn't seem to have any effect but I think I need to test for one more day. Here in Toronto the RDS traffic is only broadcast Monday to Friday 6am - 7pm, so tomorrow is the last day of the week that I can test.

Svache, i am looking at the "Installation" file for the E-sys and i need clarification on step 5. I did download all of the 24 "2_46.3_psdzdata.partX" files but now i need to copy the 7 folders that are inside every single one of the 24 "2_46.3_psdzdata.partX" folders into C:\ESysData\psdzdata\ folder?

Am i reading this correctly?

after you extract all 24 rar files it will package together a folder with 7 subfolders. you need to move those 7 subfolder into the C:\ESysData\psdzdata\ folder
