My thoughts:
-- runflats eliminated or optional
-- find ways to reduce the weight a bit or have a lightweight edition
-- true sports suspension available on xDrive models
-- some type of adjustable suspension
-- the updated cupholder's suck: bring back how they were on the E46
-- make the Premium package really premium (how about upgraded leather, and other truly premium features, not just cheap gadgets that really ought to be standard)
-- (+1) LEATHER / ALCANTARA INTERIOR
-- (+1) Continue to offer 6MT on all 3ers (BMW one of the few companies letting you get a manual with AWD)
-- better "sport steering wheel" with Sport
-- the xDrive torque-vectoring from the X6
-- a dealer installed tune for the 335

What actually isn't bothering me that I thought would:
-- lack of dipstick (I'm okay with the sensor)
-- the new cruise control stalk (I really like the ability to go up/down by 5mph)

Well it so happens that you cannot order the smoker-delete package in the US when ordering the car. Most US customers don't even know it's possible to do it afterwards. And that is precisely what the other poster meant - since so few people now smoke in the US (compared to 20 years ago or even today's Europe) - then BMW should offer the option for the smoker-delete. Which gives him the shades tray that he wants.

Simple no?

And without your horribly delicious invention we would have longer lives no doubt.

2008 BMW M3  [9.50]
1) Factory alarm should be standard on a bmw or at least if you get the premium package.

2) They should offer the PDC as an option for the front and not only the rear

3) Rear Tailight should come standard as LED lights

4) Ventilated Seats should be included in the premium package

5) Design of the wheel needs to be more agressive like the Mercedes C Class wheels. The 189 style should be standard with a more agressive sportier looking wheel as a sports package upgrade

6) Get rid of that annoying "heat" that seeps from the vents that's supposedly "normal" when you're driving. It's more noticeable when you drive with the windows rolled down and all your settings are off in the vents department. (I took my car into 2 different dealers and both said it's normal)

7) The standard HID xenon bulbs should be 5000-6000K instead of the current temp (4300K?)

8) BMW Navigation should have a search feature where you can just type in the name of the store/business w/out having to find the correct category and submenus like other portable cheaper navigation systems ie.. garmin/tomtom, etc..

9) BMW Navigation should have a search feature where you can just type in the name of the store/business w/out having to find the correct category and submenus like other portable cheaper navigation systems ie.. garmin/tomtom, etc.

10) Fix the Fuel Pump problem once and for all. The fuel pump issues could be hurting the sales for car enthusiasts b/c they would rather not have to worry about their fuel pump going out. It'll affect current owner and make them think twice before owning/leasing another bmw and potential bmw owners may choose to opt for something else that's more "reliable"

11) Add a turbo to the mechanism that moves the seat up and down when someone is trying to get to the back seats. It takes forever! Maybe have an option where they can just pull the lever and slide it if they want to.

12) Have an option of getting RFT or standard tires with a spare

It's still early and I can't think of any other thigns right now

well, you CAN delete the ashtray in the US, right ? Even if it's not a factory option ? Then I don't see a problem...the reason they don't offer a shades tray is because it rains here most of the time so we don't need them

Well, a strong will and character are the key to a longer life...but I have a feeling that the meat and sauces + this 1 liter of diet coke contribute to the shorter and fattier life too

Make the RFTs optional. - For God's sake!
Reduce the scandalous price for sat nav and bluetooth in the E92 (British prices)
If we go for non black leather interiors, make the gear lever gaiter the same color as the rest!
Make the standard wheel better than present - it's deliberately ugly to make customers pay more for better looking wheels.

It's true what's been said here, enthusiasts like us only cover 10% of their sales and we are the only ones who don't like some of the things BMW do, the rest don't know any better.

The number of 3 series sold in Britain that are bought by people who are ONLY buying the badge - is mind boggling.

Called BMW HQ, they said that the Dual Clutch transmission has not been considered for the US market, since Germany feels that the current automatic is good enough for the Yanks.

I guess all of Europe and even Australia have a market for a dual clutch transmission, but the hicks in North America have no need for it, after all, we all drive horse and buggy here.

Assholes !

All manufacturers use either 4100 or 4300k (most 4300).

That is the optimal lighting lumens at the optimal coloring.

5-6000k you begin to lose lumens and also the more bluish white the lighting gets it 1. creates more glare for on coming cars and 2. decreases visibility in wet weather significantly.

Ditch the run flats and put in a real spare
Bigger mirrors
Temp gauge instead of the mpg needle, Dipstick for oil and tranny
Knob for adjusting panel lights
Reduce the minimum volume for the gong; mute the freeze warning gong

haha ^ +1 yes thank you...

guys just remember, WE WANT TO AVOID THE SPACE SHIP LOOK

WE WANT SIMPLE QUALITY DESIGN....that is keeping with german

I'm all for more technology, we just don't need an extra button for every single feature.

BMW ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE =/= MERCEDES YACHT, LEXUS / AUDI SPACE SHIP LOOKING PARTS

Take pride in your clean sexy interiors...

keep the car the same size lose some weight though (i hate how cars keep getting bigger, the new accord is monstrous).

improve the 6MT (honda could show you a few tricks)

DCT instead of step

how about non-constant dual zone climate control(theres usually only 1 person in the car)

an off button for the climate control

keep the price low youre losing customers that are going to acuras and infinitis because of all the stuff they include standard (Ipod control, comfort access, premium sound) all standard on the cheaper japanese cars and cost way to much on BMWs

LSD

Alarm system

all nav systems available as oem can learn a thing or 2 from garmin as far as graphics display and poi and HMI

better scratch resistant harder paint(scratches way to easily)

be less anti mod or service(you cant change a f-ing light biulb without throwing a code)

im sure ill think of more
