Injen intake, aFe scorcher or bms tuner?
I want to upgrade my car; I'm choosing between Injen Air Intake BMW F30 328i N20, aFe Power Scorcher Module BMW N20, and the BMS Stage 1 N20 Tuner BMW F30 328i.
i know the three are very different with one another but i'm not sure which one to choose. The most important thing is to make sure these parts won't screw up my engine or the car in any way. I don't have much knowledge about these parts other than the descriptions provided by the stores. Are these reliable? which parts are more practical? And finally, which parts would you go for and why? |

well intakes wont really give you any power, and the bms is upgradeable so i say go with that, and people are selling the bms on here cheap.

Okay thanks guys. I'm leaning towards bms amd injen. the thing is, i'm just really cautious of the bms tuner. the intake seems like it would be good for my car cause it helps it "breathe better" and it has some hp tq gains. Decisions...

No one has shown intake gains on the dyno outside of manufacturers claims. Independent testing has shown the stock intake is not enough of a restriction. The intake is a sound modification, the tunes are a power modification.

If you want better 'breathing', then take the risk of removing the catalytic converter down pipe and replacing it with one of a number of cc free dps, which you can research on this forum. You WILL add some Kw & Nm to the car. As Jameson has already mentioned, the intake is a noise fun factor improvement only.

Got BMS Stage 1 tune 2 months ago and am very happy with it. Very quick to install and relatively cheap. I have done nothing apart from the tune. Improvement below.

You can'g go wrong with either. It depends what you are looking for.
BMS is for performance, Injen is more for sound (it will give you performance but nothing close to the BMS tuner). pm me for more help

Sounds good for a shiny carbon fibre cover, which takes up un-necessary space. Superb value for nothing. Cheap at half price. I think $1700 is a typo. Should be $1.70. Waste of money.

Well, it is GruppeM... It's is a piece of bling branded air intake...
It probably doesn't make sense to most ppl in the world where this is probably gonna be ~5% of the car's value?? How much does the 328 goes for in the US anyways? 30 grand? From where I am from, it costs 190 - 200k USD, so 1.7k is pretty much loose change in comparison. There's Taiwanese imitations that goes for ~900ish... At least the sound >>> ingen / afe, that I can attest since I've both the latter 2 as well... Can't say there's any difference performance wise. |

Most companies/entities that make heat tolerant internal shields for spacecraft use gold plating since it does an excellent job. I smell a lucrative business opportunity making gold plated CF air intake scoops for your market. It will really give consumers something to wrestle with.... $1.7k?? Don't be silly, that's pocket change... spend twice as much as get double the consumer enjoyment.... how does $3400 on an intake sound?? Oh the dilemma!

What I am saying is, in comparison to the price of the car, it is much more acceptable. We (in SG) pay 93k (80k usd) for a piece of paper that allow us to own the car for 10 years anyways. So looking at what.. 20k usd a year to "lease" the car? |

Hi folks,
Would you think that the afe intake kit for 328i would fit the 320i? I can't see any reason why but looking at them all they only say 328i Cheers |
