Question Help with parts needed to complete my retro

So I am in the process of buying a complete sport steering wheel that’s heated with paddle shifters. My current wheel is a standard wheel and my car is a base model. No heads up or lane assist.

My question is what other parts will I need to complete this upgrade?

I know I will need the heated button and the bottom part of the console cover?

What’s left? Do I really have to buy a new turn signal and wiper stalk? I was reading one of the retro treads and it was a bit confusing.

Thanks a lot for any advise on this!

Check the DIY section I remember someone posting about the heated steering wheel retrofit.

I'm sure you'll find the answer there.

Thanks but I was trying to avoid piecing the info together and then buying something I didn’t need.

Maybe I am over thinking this.

You will not need a different cover and heater button if you currently have a heated steering wheel. If not, you will.

EDIT: THE FOLLOWING INFO IS FOR MSPORT PARTS, NOT SPORTSLINE WHICH YOU NOW APPEAR TO BE BUYING

You obviously need paddle shifters. I have a set used but mint if interested.

You need everything except #2 here:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=32_2216

I have parts 3 and 4 used but mint. if interested, message me.

You need this:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=61_3591

You need to verify that you have one of these currently that supports heated steering wheel. Only you know all the options on your car to verify.

I’d rather buy and not need, then return than get into it and find you do need and don’t have.

Thanks for all that info

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1476004

This is what I picked up.

My care is a base 328i. So I will need that steering column switch as well.

Sorry for the confusion on what I was getting.

So when I am looking for the new switch unit. I pick the one that has the options I am going to have with the new wheel right?

That’s a Sportsline, not a MSport.

My list and links are for the MSport, not the Sportsline.

Suggest you contact seller for help on those parts.

@obert Where you able to find the paddle cutout back plate? I would like to as well. I'm having a difficult time finding just the back plate.

Thanks in advanced.

Ugh!! Smart!
In my case I already have the M-sport wheel.
My only issue now is finding that back plate with the slots already precut.

I had an x1 loaner which had nothing but heated steering and front seats. My car doesn't have those so it was nice to have on cold mornings but not essential in California unless you are at high elevation.

I thought there was a thread with someone selling the kits for the M wheel on here. I believe it was the paddles and the back part your looking for.

Maybe he can help.

My hope is to have this all figured out before this next winter comes. I believe I have all the parts coming and I am getting the coding done next week before I do the install.

Thanks! I am not sure if he's willing to part with the back plate alone. I am planning on getting the smaller paddles.

I have one. Also have paddles for MSport.

I also have M6 OEM paddles that can be installed on them.

Message me

Guess he wasn’t really looking or really needed part.
