Let's Race... Not

Longest delivery ever? I'm at 16 weeks and still waiting for an East Coast US delivery, South African assembly. Lets see yours.

Placed order 8/26 so 12 weeks already... Germany. 1-800 number said production completed and awaiting for carrier on 10/25 all the way til now. BMWUSA says "production begins" still... Talked to rep on 1800 number she said its completed. CA said car starts production on 10/24 when he emailed me 10/26... So he's pretty much no help right now... Lost... no clue where and when exactly I get my car. Want to get by end of December so I get extra $1000 off.

I ordered a week after you, and have same situation here: German build, web says still in production, the 800# says awaiting release to carrier and has been that way for the last 3 weeks.

CA hasn't been much help, I'll try the 800# rep at the end of the week

Please let me know what they say when you call. Where are you located? I'm in California. Maybe we will be on the same boat.

I'm in Birmingham but I got the car in Columbia, MO. Port of entry is listed as Baltimore - based on what I read, I think the West Coast is served via different ships/routes

I'll give them until Friday then will talk to someone at BMWUSA

It's even more brutal when your CA tells you it's only going to be 6-8 weeks. That's because if they told you 4 months a lot of people wouldn't do it. This process from SA is NOT a well oiled machine...

Exactly!! CA said 10 weeks tops... Yeah right. I ordered July 14... So actually I'm at almost 18 weeks! Should I be pissed? I still want to maintain a good relationship with the dealer for obvious reasons. This is a little ridiculous.

Ask for free or major discount on m performance parts when you take delivery to compensate for the longer than expected waited. Haha

How are they going to make up for the $1,000 BMW rebate & the $1,000 USAA rebate I'm going to lose?? There are very few EB ll 335i's around to even buy outright. If I lose these rebates, we WILL be renegotiating the price I paid.

You can't do that in California according to my CA. He says it's against the law here.

According to BMW, after 10.5 weeks, mine is now at the dock in Germany awaiting a ship.

With only 6 weeks left in the year and the many stories here on the boards of cars sitting weeks on the dock and then more time lost at the VPC, I'm not feeling super confident that it will make it by Jan 2nd.

Time will tell.

What makes me mad is that my CA keeps saying that it will take two weeks to get here. As of right now the 800 says at port of exit. I doubt that I will get if before end of year, so i might just ask my CA to search for a similar build and have him trade for it. I see others with SA builds that wait way too long at port of exit and if they have really started more production of 3 series at SA the wait might be just as worse.

Who is your dealer? If your car is not on a boat, it's minimum 4 weeks from Germany or 8 weeks from SA.
