I hope so otherwise I may have to borrow a couple of reindeer!

There's no website, that almost sounds too easy for finding information and as we all know, that's not how it works

It came from the dealer's internal system. It could be worth you asking your dealer to see if they can give you the latest production status although being so close to delivery there may not be much to tell you.

Well as luck would have it, I am going in to my dealer at 11:30 today (Sat) to sign my life away. So I shall press for answers.

Still showing as delivery in week 51 with a req delivery date on the system of 18/12/2013 so fingers crossed it all stays that way. They've had enough time to get everything organised so let's see how good German efficiency really is

Maybe only 4 weeks to go
Well that might explain why I'm still waiting for a VIN as mine is still due 24th so maybe I will hear next week.

My dealer was reporting I'm status 5055 i.e. still at factory.

He said when it comes up as status 9000 it will have left the factory.

Apparently a number of cars appear to be being put back by a week or two. He suspected the reason is a problem this end. i.e. Southampton and it's capacity. I suppose the month before Christmas is a busy month for ports in general so this sounds plausible.

That doesn't bode well. Let's hope it's just because the factory either can't bear to let such a gorgeous looking car go. As long as it's not due to them triple checking the order as it seems to have Online Entertainment on it

Ha ha very droll.

Learned two new codes today if anyone's interested.

8200 means it's left the factory
9605 means its at sea.

Suffice to say mine's still at the factory... drums fingers .

Technically mine is also still at the factory, although being in thousands of different parts waiting to be assembled isn't quite the same thing. It's infuriating having the VIN number and checking several times a day to see the numbers slowly going by. I'm within 10 now so if they pull their fingers out this week it'll be built on time if nothing else!

In case you feel need to see how things went, I found a list of codes

Build Status Codes

Can you tell I've had too much time since ordering?

I know the feeling. I keep checking and when another one appears you can't help but get excited that it's moved slightly closer.

VIN number 39 has not long been updated this morning. Getting closer.....

Has anyone got any idea how soon before the actual build date that you can get your VIN? Mine is scheduled build date for 2nd week of December. When shall I expect the VIN?

Im 9000 - Departed plant!!!!!!!!! This is amazing, I'm nearly jumping out of my seat here. Delivery is now week 50, I was originally told week2!

I'm not sure how I have come forward so far when everybody else is going back. I only added electric seats on the 18th!!!! I have the spec from that bmwarchivde website and it's all there. Not a boggo spec either, comfort access, sunroof, electric seats, lumber pronav, etc etc

Original delivery estimate was before Christmas but now it looks lie it might well be earlier. Getting far too excited.

From the dealer, even he seems excited, they've not had a 335d in yet

Just out of curiosity, how often are you guys communicating with your dealer? Are you contacting them weekly, daily or what? I've been contacting them every few weeks but I feel as though that's too often as nothing ever seems to have changed.

Today was the first day since ordering for me. When he said it had left the factory I was stunned! At least there is no temptation to change any options now! He reckoned it would be another 10 days or so and he should be able to give me a handover date then. He reckons on handover sometime in the middle of December about a week ahead of what was initially planned.

Communication from the dealers is a joke. Surely they could just drop you an email to say it's started being built but instead you have to go digging for scraps of information!

Mine has started paintshop as of this lunchtime so it should be built and rolling off that production line in the next couple of days

With regards to contacting the dealer, I've been in contact about once a week but thus has been more to do with finalising all the dealer accessories. This week as I know it's build week I've contacted twice, Monday and today. As I know it's officially started though I've asked for a daily screenshot.

Now the real torture begins. Knowing it's being built and may be here soon although my wife will be glad when it arrives so she can have some peace and quiet

I was in touch earlier this week requesting to add the ebt. However the reply was that it was locked down and it all went from there. Before that I had been in touch just over a week ago to actually sign the deal and confirm addition of electric seats.
