Gasoline door

Does anyone have a problem with their gasoline door not closing all of the way when locked? It doesn't lock shut at all and looks like it is open even when the doors are locked. Is there a service bulletin or anything for this?

I have a problem with it when its very cold out. The spring does not retract all the way and the door does not close flush to the body.

I had the same problem when I was picking up my car at the dealer. it was like a 30sec fix but now that the weather is cold it is happening again.

you have to open and close it with the doors unlocked, otherwise it won't function properly.

I had the same problem and when I took it to the dealer they told me that the little string that attaches to the cap has to be pointing downwards in order for the door the close properly and lock

Sounded like bs to me considered I never had to care about it in any other car but it does work.

I don't seem to have a problem with the passenger doors locked and only drivers door unlocked. Plus, the OP is in Florida and it doesn't get cold enough for the spring mechanism to malfunction, so not sure if the cold winter weather has something to do with it.

True, mine works after I open only my driver's door to get out and fill up. But if you're of the habit to lock the door after you get out, before you finish filling up, you'll make problems for yourself.

Agreed - the gas cover locks as well with all doors locked, so if one gets out, opens the gas cover, then locks the doors, the cover will not close all the way...hmmm?
