The coding part or rather software activation of the system is the hardest part of the retrofit if you want to stay away from aftermarket activation modules. It's definitely not a simple coding you can do to activate/deactivate different features.

We can do NBT Evo ID5 in F30s with any other head unit.

Online Services

Some of you have been asking if you will lose Online Services with the BimmerTech NBT Evo retrofit.
If your car has a factory installed NBTEvo (ID4) and you would like to upgrade it to ID5/ID6 with CarPlay and other new features you can do it with our retrofit kit and Online Services will still work just fine.

However if you have on older head unit (NBT,CIC, Entry, EntryNav) you will lose Online Services.

If you are not sure what head unit you have just send us an email and we will be happy to help!

I have the base CIC (no nav, no combox) and I am looking to upgrade to either the NBT or the NBT Evo. Which do you think is an easier and more cost-effective retrofit? Apple CarPlay isn't really a difference maker for me because I mainly use Android whereas iOS is just secondary or for music playback. My car is a F30 316i (WBA3A1109EJ606409). Thanks!
