Handbreak break not working?!
Hey there guys, This is my first post
I recently got a 2013 328i xdrive and was taking off the wheel to inspect the breaks to see if they needed replacing.Jacked up the car with the parking brake on and noticed the wheels were not locked up and the wheel would just spin when I would try to loosen the lug nut. After that, I lowered the car and kept testing the parking brake and it won't work!.somone said it may just be how the car is. Is this normal or should i get the car checked out?, There is only 35000 km on it so i don't know why there would be a problem. I am still a noob at these things thanks,Anders Last edited by ottawa_f30; 12-22-2017 at 10:15 AM.. |

No, the handbrake only engages drum brakes which are in the rear, not the front.

When changing your own wheels, loosen bolts before lifting the car. On the other end, hand tighten when car’s in the air and torque when the car’s back on the ground. Use proper jacks, stands and wheel chokes. Replace beer with hot chocolate around this time of the year. |
