Window rolling down with comfort access?

Hello
just got my 435i x-drive and I previously had an E92 with no comfort access.

But one of a feature I liked a lot was the ability to have both door windows to go half down to facilitate the entry in the car and not getting hit or crushed when parked into a tight spot... All you had to do was to push the unlock button twice on the remote.

Then the windows are rolling up automatically when the door is closed.

That's still working on the F32, but is there any way to do this with confort access? By tapping twice on the handle when going in? Or when inside and going out by pulling the handle?

Any way to do this automatically?

Thanks for your help!

In the US versions, at least, to roll the windows down on unlock, you have to hold the button down on the key fob after the doors have unlocked. I don't believe this function is available through the door handles themselves even if you have comfort access. (Rolling up again is more or less the opposite.)

Well, with the coupe the door are quite long and the window is concave as it is shaped this way along the B pillar.
So when you're parked in a tight spot or between cars there's not much room between the top of the window and the roof part of the the car...
Hence the very useful feature, that rolls downs the window halfway down by clicking twice on unlock so you don't have to do gymnastics to get out/into your car....

If you hold it opens them (and the sunroof if you have one).
To close just hold lock until everything is shut.
it's not the easy entry function I'm referring to...

Thanks, I can see how that would definitely help entry.

In the US, it only works the other way if you code the car. It is deactivated here for safety reasons.

Right, for US cars.

One of the first things I had coded along with folding mirrors from the fob or door handle.

I can roll mine up & down from the remote or door handles. I've also coded so there's no delay between the front and rear windows rolling up/down.

Hi,
Can you tell us what where the coding you used to do so?

Are you speaking of windows rolling up/down as Easy Entry or as the long pressing of the unlock/lock button ?

Both, long press on the lock or unlock button to roll windows up or down and touching the door handle to close everything.

Thank you for posting this! My BMW rev head Mum had taught me about the long hold to roll the windows down, but I have been manually putting them back up. This is such a great feature... especially when you live in such a hot place like I do and are parked outside houses all day... Guess I can teach her something!

New to BMW and I keep coming across the term "coding." Excuse my ignorance being a newbie, but who can code your car and how do you know what is possible through coding?

For example: I have comfort access on my '18 X5 and I saw that a click and hold of the fob unlock should unlock the doors and open all windows/sunroof. Also a press and hold of the lock button will lock the doors and close all windows/sunroof. Is this a standard comfort feature or does this require coding? (I'm in the US; idk if that matters.)

Thanks.

You can code using phone app programs like iCarly or Bimmercode and an OBD2 adapter or take it to a professional. I personally use Bimmercode; you can download the app, and view a, "Demo" version which essentially shows you all the code-able features but you won't be able to actually code until you purchase the license through the app.

I'm unsure about the click and hold to unlock to open all doors/windows since I never used that feature but the lock one works w/o coding. What you can do with coding is reduce or increase the time needed for holding the button to trigger the action e.g. instantly folding the mirrors when locking the car.

Thanks.

Rolling down windows and opening moonroof can be done by holding down unlock button on key fob. To close all windows and moonroof press and hold the comfort access capacitive button on the front passenger door handle.

There are apps in the App Store you can use to code your bmw. You will need a Bluetooth dongle that plugs into the obd port.

Good thing to have. Coding opens a lot of features that are already on the car like Fob/handle auto windows down, mirror fold, flashing stop lights on hard braking etc.
