Hi everyone
I am also new to the forum and am going to purchase a 328 Sport Line with the following options. Metallic paint Comfort Access 19in alloys Bi-Xenons with headligh washer system Digital radio Pro Navigation Price quoted $86,265 less Corporate Discount of $7,000 Driveaway price $79,265 I reside in Perth so I am a bit cautious as to whether this is a good price or not. The car is not in stock so will have to be ordered. The other dealer in Perth, which is also owned by Auto Classic, advised me yesterday that they have this exact spec car on order and expected delivery is about 4 weeks. They are going to provide me with a quote tomorrow. Although both dealerships are owned by Auto Classic, they operate independently. Hopefully this will give me some bargaining power. Yours thoughts on the price I have negotiated so far would be appreciated Thanks |

From the sound of it, if you don't act too keen and are willing to miss out on this car, play it cool and touch base closer to when it's due to see if you can get the price lower. That spec I'd pay no more than $75k for I reckon. |

Thanks for the advice Dabaitu. I am in no hurry so will play it cool.
You are right about AC. The last time I dealt with them several years ago I found the same spec car I was looking for at the time in Sydney for $8k cheaper (including freight to Perth). AC ended up matching the price, so they are competative when you have something to bargain with. |

Yes, I was going to suggest you look interstate, at least to keep your WA BMW monopoly on the ball.

Hi All
Also new to this forum. I am in Perth and am currently looking at a 328 with the following: M Sport Metallic Paint (Mineral Grey) Bi-Xenon with headlight wash Pro Navigation Sunroof Reversing Camera Music Interface with Extended Connectivity (Bluetooth Music) Have been told full retail is $91,580 but they are offering $83,800. Is this price reasonable or should I push for more? Thanks for your help! |

Have been quoted for a F31 328i Touring with M Package in Sydney for 100k for the following config
328i Touring Estoril Blue 0 ? (somewhere else cover it or free paint upgrade for 328i F31?) M Sport Package 5000 M Sport Brake 0 (somewhere else cover it or free upgrade for 328i F31?) Seat: Dakota Black Variable Sport Steering 308 Parking Assist 675 High-Beam Assist 320 Bi-Xenon Light 2050 Comfort Access System 1100 Heads Up Display 2000 Panorama Sunroof 2950 Navigation Professional with Extended Cluster Display 1500 Heated Front Seats 1000 Sun Protection Glazing 800 Extended Phone System 500 Harman Kardon Upgrade 1200 Alarm 1000 Dealer Delivery 5700 Stamp Duty 3915 Rego/CTP 606 Is it fair, i noticed the Alarm, Comfort Access System, Sunroof, Sun Protection, Heated front seat, high beam assist, parking assist, bi-xeon are higher than the configuration price i found on Drive/Car Sales RRP. Are these due to the LCT or because i have free blue paint and m sport brake? |

I am not sure if you actually sat down and started negotiating. But you have been given a ridiculous quote there if that is a quote. All up at list price for an equivalent sedan should be about 94k OTR. I think Touring is 3k more? You should aim for at least 7% discount off that. Ordering with more options gives the dealer more room for discount but then they may look at you and think they can squeeze more money out of you since you are not wanting a stripper car. Shop around is a an absolute must. 100k? You could probably drive away a 335i sedan at that price. |

I was thinking the same for that spec maybe around 90-95k before negotiating. Also consider if it is floor stock take a few k off if its floor stock

well the 328i touring is build to order and first shippment won't be available until late May. I can only test drive the 320i touring with m sport package. This was the initial spec quote and not in price negotiation yet, as I have to see what I really want. I probably will go without HUD to start with.
Anyone recommends for the variable sport steering? |

Keep this option. Best 300 bucks you can ever spend. I personally love the quick steering, especially in tight spots.
This is just my opinion of course but I think you can possibly do without: - alarm (I know a few people who own BMWs but I have never known anyone to actually spec alarm as an option) - front seat heating (do you need that in Syd?) - high beam assist (I think you only need it if you use high beam a lot i.e. country driving) - sun protection glazing (there are a few different opinions out there on having it done at BMW dealer or outside vendor - there is no way you need to pay $800 for a tint if you do it outside BMW) - HUD, nice to have but incredibly expensive at $2000 Don't forget options are barely worth the piece of paper they are listed on when you trade it in. Makes the car easier to sell yes. But you would be luck to get 25 cents on the dollar when you sell it in a few years time (assuming you are of course). |

i thought M sport was only about a 3k upgrade for the 328 not 5k.
dealer delivery at 5.7k, they are having a lend. let me know which sydney dealership you want to deal with, and ill tell you who is best to speak to. As i have just done the whole process for a f31 also there is a est blue f31 in sylvania showroom if you wanted to see one in flesh Last edited by mackie777; 04-01-2013 at 03:11 AM.. |

Thanks. I do actually drive to the country NSW (Tamworth, Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Canberra (coldest capital city), and southern highland for work. Winter is harsh there!
will need to talk to the dealer next week for the bargain shot. Was also looking for Audi A4 Avant (doing $5k demonstrator sale in April) but the look is outdated especially the cabin tech which is also important nowadays. Quote:

Lose that one like jctg posted and get 35% tint all around for much less than rip off $800.00 for just 2 windows.

Work out what spec you want and then start negotiation.
Dabaitu provided good advice in an earlier post by saying to show restrain with your enthusiasm for the new car. If possible negotiate via email. It is easier to negotiate hard when you are not in the salesmans office where they can put pressure back on you. The prices for the options are too high. |

Thanks Guy, i've just ordered the F31 328i Touring with M Sport Package in Estoril Blue with the following options:
M Sport Package Estoril Blue Dakota Black leather seat Panorama Roof Bi-Xenon Light Nav Professional with included extended clusters Adaptive Headlights High Beam Assist Comfort Access Heated front sport seats with lumbar support H/K sound Telephony with extended smart phone (apparently this is new to F31, so you don't need to order additional Music Interface for smartphone) Model Designation Deletion. 94k driveaway June Production for late August delivery. BMW is doing promotion on the paint protection and full tinted windows for $2695 excl. LCT and stamp duty (all up i think it's 3500 on top of the final price) is it worth and what would be the cost if done outside for paint protection and tinted windows for F31 wagon? |

I wouldnt go with the paint protection.. you'll get a better job done by detailing professionals. Top class tint ~ 500 bucks. I would be surprised if you'd spend more than 1200 all up
