Order or buy now. I'm hopefully going to order my 2011 E90 335i next week (or as soon as BMW Germany gets back to me with my final quote..). You can't go wrong with the last year of any model as previous posters have also mentioned, as the kinks should already be ironed out.
You should also miss the whole 330i/335i issue as the N55 is a brand new engine that they should keep in the F30 as the top spec option. |

1st year models will always cost more, not just in price of the car, but also the APR rate whether you'll buy or finance. That will cost thousands. But if one can afford it and doesn't mind then no problem waiting for the new one. I just bought a 2011 335i coupe, and I love it. Cars always change, just buy one and be happy with it. I don't believe in leasing.

get in a nice 335i for 12-18 months without worrying about depreciation. If you buy a CPO I would get the coupe as that will take less depreciation than the sedan in a year from now as it will still be current. |

I am keeping my current lease for another year on the daily driver and will place a ED order for a 328 x drive sedan once it becomes avail. Things might change a bit if they offer 335d in x drive....
Jury is still out on the M3 replacement for me.... Love the curent car an would like to see what BMW ends up oing with the nex gen M.

If you keep the car you have now, the money you will save on that will probably offset the first year premium on the f30. I would hate to buy a new car only to have it look dated in 18 months or so. Also, buying the new model means it won't look outdated in the resale market for quite a while.
The bigger issues I would consider before jumping in on a new model is a) availability. You might wait longer than you hoped depending on demand and production. and b) new car issues....most cars have a few issues in their first year, but with modern production and testing protocols, these are usually more of a hassle than serious defects to resolve. |
