Magnaflow Exhaust
Magnaflow has a new cat back exhaust system for the N20. The part number is 15161. It is stainless steel with a lifetime warranty. I have found them on Summit Racing for about 903 dollars with free shipping. If you want to hear how they sound, look up the system on the website. You can also get installation instructions there.

Price
I found it at Summit Racing, www.summitracing.com, for around 903 with free shipping and handling. Just type in "15161" in the part number section and it will talke you to the exhaust.

It's a one hour job at most, so whatever your trusted local mechanic charges per hour will tell you.
My last exhaust fitting cost me a carton of Corona (which is somehow considered almost a premium beer Down Under). |

Magnaflow is probably the quietest exhaust offered for the F30 with the Borla right behind it.
I was considering both of these units but couldn't justify the cost v sound output. This is when I decided to modify the stock exhaust and am very pleased with the final outcome. Top Gear Solutions was the cheapest place I was able to find the Magnaflow |

I haven't heard the MPE in person but from videos it seems to be louder than the Magnaflow. It's always hard to here true sound by videos but I think you get an idea. I've heard an n55 MPE but obviously this is no comparison but did seem quite louder than stock at lower rpm.
Remember sounds are very relative as each persons opinions will greatly vary. From my research, all the lower priced exhausts sound very similar. MPE, Magnaflow, Borla, Rhemus all seemed to have that chintzy 4cyl sound in higher rpm's which I wanted to avoid and to a certain extent I have. http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1064127 |
