With MPPK and some prayer! :P Yup that's it! I don't recall the exact numbers. Temps were about 15 C with low humidity ( cool crisp day ). Also, I have close to 10k km on her and NO oil change yet. Might be a smidgeon higher a year from now and after 2 oil changes.

those who have done their dyno (or are going to), could you'll post the actual graph of the power/torque ? The area under the curve is much more useful than stating just peak numbers.

Well....got my MPPK dynoed this morning. First of all....the temperature was about 68 deg. F and very high humidity (rainy, damp, and foggy all morning). The machine that was used was a SuperFlow WinDyn V3.2. I also should mention that my car sat for about 35 minutes with the engine off before they pulled it in....so, it should have been significantly cooled down by then. Also, I have 3000 miles on the car. So after three pulls, my numbers are:
Max Horsepower: 290hp (this equates to about 341 crank hp) Max Torque: 294 lb-ft. (this equates to about 346 lb-ft.) Not sure what to think to be honest....I am very pleased with the hp number...but the torque seems low for an HPPK equipped engine (Steven Dinan himself dynoed an N55 HPPK at 321 lb-ft of torque and others on this sight have expressed similar torque numbers with the PPK). As I have been worried about since I got the car.....could there be a possibility that BMW didn't code in my PPK properly and I've been driving around thinking the software was installed, when in fact it wasn't? I sure hope not. I do not have the Nav screen....so no way to check the Power and Torque "gauges" to see what those numbers are. And....as my CA suggested, I had it installed by my dealership upon delivery....so I had no before and after comparison. Thoughts? By the way, I'm supposed to be getting an electronic version of the graph (I have a paper copy)....I'll post when its emailed to me. |

Is your car an auto or manual (the autos give more tq than the manuals if I remember the details of the kit) |

You are okay. There's no way a stock would put that out for hp. If you are really paranoid, do it again in 12 months.

Thx. I also forgot to mention that they did three pulls, and the hp and torque numbers got higher with each successive pull (the last of the three being the one with highest #s). Hmmm....makes me wonder how it would have looked had they done some more pulls. Maybe there's something to be said for the oil temp being nice and hot? Also, they did a wideband O2 reading (separate graph), but I have no idea what those numbers mean or should be.

Looks like you assumed 15% loss for calculating the crank power. Is that a standard for BMW? I thought I have seen 18% loss being used in some other places. |

Regarding the drivetrain loss....yeah, I used 15% because my car is RWD. I think the AWDs use 18%. |

Thanks for the dyno numbers. I have just generally come to the conclusion that the 335i without PPK is one fast car. 4.7 and 13.3@104 is just powerful. Add on PPK and I think we should be good for 4.4 and 13.2@106mph. This being for rwd. These dyno numbers just validate the nature of the beast

How do you interpret the ratios? I should dig up my dyno chart somewhere. I didn't understand that when I was shooting the breeze hanging out. I think mine said something like AEM Air was 15.52 whatever that means.
