Over the past couple of years I have had a couple of M cars the first being my M4 which I ordered new when TRL was doing silly deals

Here is my original M4

Unfortunately due to a number of issues with my M4 I rejected it. While waiting for it to go through i test drove a C63 and loved it but at the time it was easier to just go with a new M car which i did.

The M3 arrived and it was great, no rattles or issues which is how I wish my M4 had been.

The problem was that I just never gelled with it, infact I think it could have been a CS for the same money and I would still have felt the same. I was always waiting for the next thing to go wrong and so when a fellow cutter made me an offer for the car I decided to end my M car journey and move to a C63..

So after a bit of a search (working with dopper99) I found my C63 and picked it up a couple weeks back

Spec

AMG C63

I am sure a few will ask why I didn't go for the full fat S, well simply I couldn't justify the extra £8k. I also wanted the standard seats as they are more comfortable as I have a bad back and need the extra support.

Having had the car the a few weeks now I can safely say I made the right decision. I was really torn selling my M3 as it was so good but I knew it just wasn't right me.

The merc is an amazing car and is a proper road car weapon, it's not the razor sharp track tool the M3 is but it more than makes up for it when using it daily. The ride quality is a lot better especially the damping, it's not a harsh as the CP which I personally prefer.

I am still running it in but even keeping it under 5k revs it's still properly quick, it has so much low end grunt that you don't have to drive it hard to go quickly. Then there is the noise and all I can say is WOW, coming from a CP with an MPE its very different but my god does is sound good. With the exhaust off it's very refined and quiet but hit the loud button and the noise is on another level, the cracks and pops are not as much as the CP but it still sounds amazing.

Overall I am very please with my first AMG, I am sure I will try the new M3 when it comes out but for now I will settle for the V8

Lovely car Scott, but then I guess I'm a little biased.

Agree with the seats. The performance seats in my S are a bit on the firm side, standard seats are much better if you have back issues.

But I agree with everything you say about it. Cracking car and as good as the M3 is, I don't miss it one bit. Depends what you want in a car.

Also, I think you have the Premium Pack too Scott? Which includes the upgraded stereo, sunroof, keyless go and a few other bits.

Looks great congrats on the car and extra congrats on going for the comfort bit.

It's really easy to fall in to the sports option thing but being comfortable comes first

Lovely looking car.

The pictures don't seem to be working now

I looked into getting a C63 Estate last summer when there were some good lease deals around on them but what put me off in the end was the noise and lack of it. I was really disappointed as I had high expectations comparing to the older generation. I put it down to the standard car (non-S) not coming with the AMG Sports Exhaust. You mention switching your exhaust on and off so I assume yours has that as an option? It would be a must have for me but none of the stock cars had it.

Ok so the coupe (which Scott and me have) comes as standard with the performance exhaust - which is switchable on/off in any driver mode (ie Comfort, Sport, Sport+).

For the saloon and estate, I believe its an option. Which is why you may see some without it.

Also the above applies to the S and non-S.

Ah, thanks, that explains it. I couldn't see the pics so didn't realise it was a coupe. It's a shame it's not standard on the estate.

I'm currently in discussions with dealer to maybe follow in both your footsteps.
Big decision (financially) for me though.

They are amazing cars, I did 200 miles this week and it was simply brilliant.

On a run home yesterday I managed to get 28mpg and that was sitting at motorway speeds

Thats pretty impressive, considering the car is fairly new too ?

Mind you the monthly payment is still making me gulp a bit, even with a reasonable deposit. Still getting my head round PCP’s as I own current car.

If you drop me a pm I can give you my figures. Happy to put you in touch with the dealer as their discount better than anywhere else.. Think it was about 14% in the end
