MET Office release weather warning - BMW alerted

There has been a MET office weather alert released.

As part of this (as can be seen in link) all Sdrive cars are advised to park up.

This is due to the expected intensity of the rain and water on the roads.

Ah.

Now I understand.

This is why X dive cars look as if they are on stilts.

To wade through the floodwater, without getting your brogues wet....

new tyres probably mean even more sliding with all the storage oil in them.

Had fun yesterday with TC kicking in while even 3rd gear

I'm confused as to the ongoing jibes between xDrive and normal.

BMW have been making RWD cars since forever, and I don't get what the big excitement is about 4wd now it's come along. Do many people on here live on farms or something?

They're all closet Audi lovers who want 4WD as their driving skills aren't up to scratch to be able to handle a RWD car. ;-)

:

No, it's just that all the 330i/d drivers that wish they'd gone for the range topping 335dx model (excluding the ///M obviously ) but justify it on the grounds of "I'm a driving God and RWD is superior"

So not the 'top one' then, which as we stand is RWD

F30/F31 not available as an ///M, so technically the 335dx is the top one

Of course there is the other reason that car is parked up....

Being a 320i, it likely does not have enough power to handle those deeper puddles

Ummm no. The reason I bought a 330d is because I wanted RWD and didn't want my sports saloon with the ride height of an X5

Definitely in my F31
It may be harder to argue in an F30
