I shop at home supplies stores all the time, and people are constantly shocked at what fits under the hatch in my 928s. Last night when I picked up four new tires (255 wide) for my 928, a guy with a wagon offered me a hand as I wheeled them out to the car. He was surprised to see all four, under the closed hatch, as we both were leaving. A sloping hatch makes for an extremely practical vehicle. I too would love for BMW to bring the M135i or the 335i Sport Wagon (non X-drive) to North America! I would have purchased the later already. But this is what we get, and it is vastly better than no rear drive hatchbacks at all. Cheers |

I like the 4gc as the hatchback it actually is. More Stylish & more practical than a 3 series sedan. The only thing i cannot understand is, why bmw put than stupid "gran coupe" logo on the side. It's neither gran nor a coupe. |

I think they screwed up, but it is kind of ok: instead of being breathtaking like the 6GC it is still a nice car.
I also think it is Carbon black, salon lightning is so bright it also look like it is in full direct sunshine. It is the same with Tanzanite blue, looking very blue in conventions and so dark otherwise. |

I think it looks amazing and digging the hatch too. Also I think it looks more coupe-like than the 6GC.

Nice...
Yet we still cannot get LEDs on any 3 series and halogens remain standard when Seat are offering LED headlights free on their equivalent of the 1 series and undercutting significantly. How about less variation and a bit more standard kit. As lovely as it is, not all of us want hundreds of permutations of the same car with a slightly different roofline. I wouldn't mind all this overselling and paying for hundreds of options if there was a BMW equivalent of the P1 or 918 in the waiting that needed to be paid for. |

It actually looks allot frumpier in person...and it's much smaller than I thought.
The press photos made it look stunning...I'm not so sure now. Someone needs to do side by side comparisons with the sedan coupe, gt, etc., as the first side by sides were worthless, as they weren't dimensionally correct; all the photos had the cars blown up so they all appeared to be the same size. |

I agree with that. On press photos it just looks fantastic, but in real life it looks a bit out of dimension. It's still a beautiful car, but I would rather go for the 3 GT

I pick up a lot of wood and have the extra height in the wagon helps when laying it across the seats. In the E90 the small trunk opening kept me from carrying a lot of bulker items, but you are correct, that would not be a problem with the hatch/trunk on the 4GC. I too would have purchased a 335i Sport Wagon, but instead I drive an Audi and there is not a day that goes by that I wish it were a 335i Wagon (<--- look BMW NA!).

Also Carbon Black seems to be the marketing color for the 4GC, like Mineral Grey was for the 4 and Melbourne Red for the 2. I just wish Carbon Black would be available for the normal 4 (non-GC) |

Agree the 6 GC is a beautiful car. I don't care what they call the cars either, just funny seeing a company such as BMW have an initial good strategy F**K it to hell in the end. Like my old boss said, "in order to be successful in life, you just have to be average as most people suck at their job." This being a perfect example of a complete product marketing failure 101. |

actually this falls in line with bmw's strategy regarding the even numbers being coupes and the odd numbers being sedans...you guys really think that BMW didn't think this through when changing naming conventions? it allows them to align themselves with its competitors AND allows for more in the overall product line. its called a long range plan, not an oops, lets just do it anyways.
