Anyone on Swift Ace?
First and foremost, THANK YOU to everyone on this forum for your support and assistance, you guys/gals are terriffic!! One of the best parts of my day other than hugging my two small children is checking in here. Second.....
The original f30 i ordered; Apline white 328i sportline, would never make it here in time; SA build, so my CA found me an identical f30 just jet blk. My new f30 which was also a SA build is currently on the ship Swift Ace with an eta to NJ/NYC port of 12/28 i am told. Not too sure where the Swift Ace is coming from or where it is now, but just wondering if anyone else's new BMW was on this vessel.

Swift Ace heading Across Atlantic early next week
I'm on the Swift Ace. Just barely missed Victorious Ace which would have taken a more direct route. Been following its slow journey up the West African coast to the North Sea since it left South Africa on 11/23. Swift Ace, at this very moment, is just leaving port in Belgium (Zeebrugge) and will be at Bremerhaven on Monday. If our cars stay on the boat our cars (mine = Imperial Blue 328i Sport Line) should be on their way across the ocean from there.
Here is link to Ship's Status page: http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shi...MMSI=311004900 You can google "Swift Ace Ship" and get there as well. Should make for a very happy new year. |

Yeah, i just checked the Mitsui OSK Lines website/ship schedule and the Swift Ace is scheduled to deptart from Bremerhaven today (Dec 19) at 13:34 and as long as the trans-Atlantic trip goes smooth and quick she'll be in Bayonne-NEAT (New Jersey Port VPC, North East Auto Terminal) at 01:51 Dec 28th. Let's wish for a safe voyage

I'm on Swift Ace also......you guys aware it arrives NYC on 28th/29th December just in time for a East Coast Port strike vote/action?
What will happen if this strike vote passes? Does ship anchor off shore and wait? Alpine White/335i |

What little I read about this pending strike was it was related to "container" ships. Now our Beemers are cars of course....not in containers. So, can they be off loaded, or will the stevedores that drive the cars off the ship strike in sympathy?
BTW "Tsuyoi" if you do what you say, the guys on the West Coast will wait longer for their cars until NJ CSI investigates and relases the crime site!!!! Let's hope it doesn't come to that.... the strike vote that is. |

My car is on the Swift Ace and my dealer emailed me yesterday to say it would be ready to pick up on the 31st (Monday). Given that the ship isn't due at NEAT until Saturday the 29th, doesn't that sound overly optimistic (even without considering the looming dockworkers strike)? I'd love to believe him, but it seems too good to be true.
Edit: Forgot to add, I'm about an hour and a half drive from the terminal. |

Depends, if your car gets through the VPC in good order, then it's possible. The ship docks on the 28th actually, so it's possible for it to be on a truck to your dealer on say the 30th, and they prep it on 31st, and it's ready.

Thanks for the feedback. I've got conflicting info about whether it docks on the 28th or 29th, but either way it seems like everything has to go just right for it to be here Monday.

That's what I saw at the MOL web site (more or less, 8:00 arrival actually), with a departure scheduled at 15:03 on the same day, so unloading would presmably be finished before the midnight strike deadline.
Cutting it close. |
