BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo to Debut at Frankfurt with 345 HP / 516 LB-FT
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo to Debut at Frankfurt with 345hp / 516 lb-ft Alpina has released the first details and pics of its 2014 Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo, which will join the B3 Bi-Turbo as the newest F3x based Alpina offering. The D3 is set to make its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt IAA show beginning next week. For the 2014 D3, Alpina utilizes the same powerplant which powers the XD3 and D5 - an inline six-cylinder twin turbo motor. It outpouts 345 HP (257kw) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) torque. 0-62mph (100kmh) can be covered by the D3 in 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 173 MPH (278kmh). As for efficiency - the D3 will sip diesel fuel at a rate of 44.3 MPG U.S. (53.3 MPG UK / 5.3 Liters per 100km). The D3 will come in both RWD and AWD models, as well as sedan and touring versions. Optional limited slip differential will also be available. Stay tuned next week as we bring you more details of the D3 and coverage of all things Alpina and BMW from the 2013 Frankfurt IAA. |

As i said on the other thread, the wagon is the way to go for alpina B3. The new M3 is so much better looking and will have better performance.

Aren't you guys getting the F30 335d xDrive? It's not that far off the Alpine's numbers at all. 313bhp and 4.8 secs to 62. The petrol Alpina is way above the 335i but this isn't all that much extra performance over the normal BMW 335d.

The Alpina is something more than just a 335d though. The motor is a reworked N55 (made to have 2 turbos), and this one like OP said can be ordered with a LSD. Add all he Alpina stuff like trim, seats, dash, wheels, quad exhaust and this is much more than a 335d.

I know the Alpina has other changes to make it unique, I was merely mentioning that it's not much faster / more powerful than the F30 335d. It'll be a hell of a lot more expensive and more so once you see what the finance deals are if you go that route. BMW in the UK are doing 3.9% APR and around £7 - 8k discount on a 335d but an Alpina will be more like 7 - 12% APR with no discount. Last edited by FastLaneJB; 09-06-2013 at 11:22 AM.. |
