Owning a BMW is not just about tearing round country lanes

When doing a 300 mile trip up a busy motorway, it's nice to have cruise control.

Oh, I agree, just saying does anyone really make that kind of drive that often to where the extra button push really matters... I guess I'm generalizing, but I bet most BMW owners don't use it much. I drive 70 miles each way to work 4 days a week and never use cruise control, too much traffic on and off that it just doesn't make sense. You pretty much have to be driving on an empty, straight, highway for it to be worth using, IMO.

So, I guess my generalization is that I would think most BMW owners like to be more connected to their car that just sitting in the chair, 99% of the time. So what is an extra button push that 1% of the time..

The other ones ASS, sport mode, seem far more annoying, collectively, to me, as they affect potentially every trip, long or short. I don't mind hitting the sport button, but can see how hitting start, then ASS off, then sport, would get annoying when you just wanna GO! You want to feel like you're sitting in a cockpit, but no one wants to feel like you have to hit as many buttons and controls as an actual pilot lol

People complain about too many things on this forum. I came from an E90 and for me i adjusted to the F30. I like the change and use it half the time. Even on regular streets. Keeps me from speeding especially on a down hill.

Exactly. I've never understood people who say that CC is useless unless you're on a wide open empty road. I can only assume that they're too scared to use it.

At least it is an option. Here in the US, we have to buy it as part of the $3100 technology package.

I swear sometimes I think the folks on this forum are more dramatic than daytime television.

Huh? Scared of cruise control?

Personally, I don't find it useful if I constantly have to hit the brake and then engage it again when I get around slower cars or out of traffic. Just my personal feeling, there usually isn't enough benefit to me to be bothered, most of the time. And I've never used an intelligent cruise that slows down for you that I liked, so same conclusion...

I drive 30 miles to work then 30 miles back 6 days in every 10. CC is on about 90% of the journey as I am 1 mile from the motorway at home and work.

I would never buy a car without it now I'm used to it. Makes the drive much more relaxing... And my license will thank me one day too! It's already saved me once or twice from my heavy foot

The great thing is... I used to feel 70 was way too slow in my old car. Now it's just right - and I think I put it down to my foot not sitting on top of the 'power button'. Must be some psychological reason in there

I thought people were saying that the 328i was more fun, more nimble but after run through this thread I notice that 335i owners dont have an issue with the cc. Maybe it's because we hardly use it?

x10000000. hehehe. Indeed to much drama. Why don't we just embrace what we have and enjoy our fine ultimate driving machine.
