I replied to your PM, but the coding is the same for all F30 with Xenon lights.

The part # for the adaptive driver control module is 7316186 on realoem, and it says 7316147 is for a non-adaptive driver control module. However, the PCB layout of two seems identical. I wonder if anyone knows whether 7316147 also works for adaptive xenon?

If it says it's for non-adaptive, why risk it, especially at the price? 63117316186 is for adaptive, it's been used in the guide and is what I have installed, and thus can tell, that it works 100%.

I just finished the retrofit without the auto-leveling. I deeply thank to kapkanimd and all who contributed to the manual and tips. Everything works like magic! No errors!
All the parts except the adaptive driver module were pretty easy to get. I got one driver module from a f30post member (Thanks!). LED modules are sold in many online shops as a pair (ebay is much more expensive). Work took 9 hours. It was not hard, but not easy. I won't do it again myself, but it is really worth doing it. Adaptive xenon is amazing and perhaps now I need to change my nickname? Last edited by MyFragileHalogen; 08-19-2014 at 03:04 AM.. |

Question.. It seems like it is mandatory to use a software (Rheingold?) and calibrate the sensor in order to make the auto leveling work, besides just installing and wiring the parts on the car? I think I am going to wait a little more till it seems easy to do.
I just couldn't find the 7316186 for a month. |

Did you VO Code FEM? 524 will enable AHL, among other things.
You can manually disable AHL by setting AHL_TYP but with 524 still in your FA, you will get an error if dealership reprograms your car. |

F30 522 BI-xenon, no high beam flash
Hi
Can any one help, installed xenon lights and done rewiring, the lights are only xenon and not AFL so I coded VO to 522 and coded FEMbody to VO, the lights work with no errors apart from no High Beam flash. I have checked the wiring back to FEM and the shutters are connected to the correct pins. Can anyone help Thank you in advance |

The light intensity doesn't change at all? Remember, the inner ones don't have lamps in them. It's just for the looks, faux lamps. The outer ones should change intensity as you switch between high and low beams.

Problem 0xD90D16 solved
Quote:
I know how to solve your problem "0xD90D16 operating unit light (BEL), (LIN): wrong version installed". I had a similar problem solved yesterday. You need to set the type of switch. FEM BODY 3064 => LCE_BEL_LIN_VAR => Edit and choose it appropriate, there are eight types, if you do not know which type of switch, make seven attempts, one will be good and the error will disappear. If you have Adaptive Xenon Headlights and fog light front and rear try to first variable BEL_FLC_NSW_NSL If my English is weak, sory, I support the goggles translator. |

Found a website that sells USED headlights with all components for $1800 + $125 for shipping
Please look at the thread I made and let me know if it's too good to be true. About to pull the trigger and get this GOING! http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1104478

My 2014 328d (build 09/13) has pn 63117259551 and 63117259552 for headlights, but it apparently does not have adaptive headlights.
I VO coded 524 on to it, coded the ecu, and then fdl coded LWR_AHL_TYP = auto./dyn. LWR+AHL = 03, C_FLC_ENA = F030disable (stock was F030enable but tried disabled anyways), C_AFS_ENA = F030enable, C_BLC_ENA = F030enable, C_CLC_ENA = F030enable. It did have the auto leveling headlights before, and they still function, but I'm getting adaptive headlight failure message on my gauge cluster. Is there anything else I need to code (or add?) to get this all up and running? I'm hoping that since I have at least 63117259551 that 63117259552 is also an adaptive headlight but I can't find any info on these part numbers other than 63117259551 here. Thanks! Editops, wrong thread, meant to post this in the adaptive one that is also stickied.. |

I just finished installing leveling sensors. Running wire from backseat through under carpet toward air duct was hardest part for me. Thank you again for sharing the info!
Now, I need to check the voltages with INPA. If it seems ok, the next step would be going to the dealership for a calibration. Here, I was wondering where you guys got INPA. I guess I'd need to buy one for F30 from ebay, as it comes with OBDII-usb cable? Oh, they seem to sell ISTA-D on ebay too. By the way, I ordered 37146784072 for leveling sensors as my car is made before 03/2013, but BMW of Bridgewater sent me 37146860843. Hopefully both are compatible and it wouldn't cause any issue... Maybe this thread has more active subscribers than the other sticky...
I have my car all buttoned up, having been very sure of the wiring, but after coding I'm still seeing an Adaptive Headlight Failure fault. The passenger headlight doesn't do any startup movement and the DRL is not as bright. My passenger side DRL also stays lit, at reduced brightness, even with the car off. If I lock the car it goes out after some time. I just pulled the connector to double check the grounds, and when I plugged it back in the DRL came right back on. I could really use the wiring diagram or a way to test at the connector with a multimeter. Surely the DRL staying lit is related to the failure I'm getting. Edit: I figured out that this problem is the result of the wrong headlight control module. I believe I have one module that is for non-adaptive xenon headlights. Fingers crossed that the European seller (a dismantler I think) works with me and does so quickly... I did specify the correct part in my request. |

I actually bought INPA + ISTA/D + usb cable from ebay. $80 This ISTA/D I got is rheingold, but not sure it is fully functional. Yet, I could run the INPA and check the status..and I have the same issue you had.
My rear ride sensor signal is not reading. I bought both sensors brand new from a BMW dealership and installed exactly what you did in your document. Do you have any thought? I am thinking first checking wire connections with a DMM (short test). One thing I could confirm is that calibration is needed, as we see the value "hoenstand VL" is !200.00 on the front side even though front sensor is reading.
