12v outlet in boot
Wouldn't mind adding a 12v outlet in the boot of my f30, best place to keep a powered coolbox for long trips rather than having it sat on the back seat.
Has anyone ever done this? Is there somewhere I can wire in the boot rather than having to trace a wire through to the front to piggy back off the other 12v outlets? |

I know you said it’s not important now but it’s easily done. You can just wire +12v straight to the battery (with a fuse of course) and there are plenty of ground points.
That is obviously a permanent live so if you wanted switched ignition live then you can use the rear fuse box. The bank of fuses 160 to 166 are ones which turn off a few minutes after the ignition goes off. I used 165 as that was free on my car - you can either use a fuse tap or get the fuse slot connector to insert into the empty contact on the fuse box. |
