For those with trimmed airbags (recall)
I was slightly worried I would have to spend another £200 on trimming my airbag again due to the recall.
After a little help from someone on a BMW Facebook group I was able to disassemble mine, take the front plate off and refit a spare oem style one from eBay. That way BMW will not bin my fine leather one!   A little bit dicey to do and the metal clips which need relaxing are almost touching the leather itself.. so there's no room for mistake, one slip and you'll score your airbag front plate.
