Xenon bulb

One of my xenons bulbs has turned pink, where can I get a replacement oem bulb?

Real oem shows 63217217509 as the part number, can anyone confirm?

Thanks[IMG][/IMG]

You want Osram D1S Xenarc bulbs. Buy a pair as mixed age bulbs will always be a different colour.

How long do these kind of bulbs generally last for? And can they also flicker as they start to die? I sometimes see one of mine flicker while in traffic reflecting off the back of the car in front

Does it happen in the dry? They can appear to flicker when rainwater runs down the lens.

That surprised me when I first noticed it. It seems an uncharacteristically poor design for BMW, where the bonnet crease creates a flow of water directly in front of the focussed xenon beam. The kind of thing you might expect on an Austin Montego, where the person designing the bonnet hasn’t spoken to the light designer.

My car is a 2014 model and done 65k miles, not sure how long these last but a few friends who have/had 3 series and more mileage haven't gone yet.

I've ordered a bulb so hopefully easy to fit.

Thank you.

Depends how often you drive at night really.

They're a bugger to fit, be prepared to have hurt hands!

That's a good point, it has always been wet. It only appeared to be the passenger side doing it though, which made me think it wouldn't be the rain. It doesn't seem to do it once I get home and get out of the car where it's sheltered so you're probably right. I'll keep an eye out in the dry though, cheers.

Mine does exactly the same on the passenger side only when wet. Put it down to water running off the bonnet.
