My comment was aimed more at those who have difficulty with dealers and service mode etc.

What's the gearbox reset you speak of?
Sorry, the and should have been an as.

Its a pain as I'm sure its the same process as the gearbox reset.

Its the adaptation reset where you hold down the accelerator pedal with the ignition on.

Changing the Ghost PIN code only requires the accelerator to be held down while you enter the current PIN code for a second time. You release the pedal once it's in learn mode.

All BMW adaptation reset procedures require the pedal to be held down for longer periods.

I can't see this being an issue unless you have some massively complex 20 button PIN code that needs to be entered

Sounds like a good work around. I've got no issues leaving my car at BMW and allowing them to do more than 30mph, in fact, I'd expect a decent road test after work anyway, most of the time this would mean doing more than 30!

I've only changed my pin once since install, so I probably took it alot slower to make sure I got it right lol.

Bring this back up to the top. I’m changing cars in a few days and went to have the ghost removed by my installer. It was that well installed he actually couldn’t find it. He spent two hours going at it. I’m leaving it in the car and will put onto transport mode with all the details when returning to dealership.

Hahaha that's amazing! I bet next time you will need to take a photo or note where it is for them!

I did feel secure that no tw@t will take the new car with this ghost. If my own installer couldn't find it there's no chance a thief would within 10 minutes.
